Square filled: Post Season 2

Summary: Daniel and Peggy have finally admitted feelings for each other, and Y/N didn't want them wasting a single second before finally going out on a long-awaited date. As one of the couple's best friends and a long-time SSR scientist, they sent Peggy and Daniel off and promised to shut down the office safely. However, when Y/N picks up an emergency call to the office about a certain blond New York SSR Chief, they have some serious decisions to make about someone they haven't always had the best relationship with.

A/N: This is very barely after season two, and I changed the timelines a little bit so Jack gets shot the same night Peggy and Daniel have their first kiss instead of the morning after. Don't @ me lol

"Y/N, are you sure this is okay with you?" asked Peggy, giving me a concerned look. Daniel stood right next to her with the same look on his face as he held her hand tight.

"Yes, I'm sure. For the love of God, I'm perfectly capable of shutting the office down by myself. I've watched the two of you dance around each other since we were all in New York. Nothing would make me happier than seeing you wonderful, adorable idiots finally get the hell out of here to go on a date!"

"I'm not sure whether to be grateful or insulted," said Daniel, turning to Peggy. They smiled at each other, then looked back at me.

"We'll take grateful for tonight," she said. She and Daniel started heading for the door, looking absolutely giddy. "And remember, you can call us if you need help with anything!"

"And don't blow up my agency!" Daniel called over his shoulder as they made it to the stairs. "Just because you have the office to yourself doesn't mean you can use it for all your experiments!"

"Get the hell out of here before I make your office into my new lab because you were taking so damn long!" I called after him. He and Peggy both shot me smiles before they disappeared downstairs, and I smiled after them.

Finally. After watching those two pine after each other for more than a year and in two different cities, they'd finally admitted their feelings for each other tonight.

And by "admitted their feelings for each other", I meant I'd accidentally walked in on them making out in Daniel's office. They'd both been mortified, but I'd been absolutely giddy. They kept trying to apologize, but I didn't give them the chance before I sent them out the door and on their way to their first date after promising to shut down the office for them.

I went to the lab first, since my own workspace would be the easiest to shut down. Then I made my way to the bullpen and started scanning to make sure everything was in order. Everything seemed to be alright, even after the crazy dustup with Whitney Frost and Vernon Masters, so I didn't really need to do much more than shut off the lights.

I took care of everything piece by piece, and I was about to lock the door to Daniel's office when the phone on his desk started ringing. I sighed. I really just wanted to go home, and I wasn't a field agent anyway. I was a scientist - nobody calling the Chief would be looking for me.

Unless, of course, it was Peggy or Daniel calling because they forgot something. And if it wasn't them, I could always just take a message for Daniel to read in the morning.

I walked into the office and flicked the lights back on, then picked up the phone while I searched for a notepad in case I needed to write anything down.
