After a few minutes, Revathi and Kulkarni kaka sat on either side of Mahima for the 'Kanyadaan'. The word 'Kanya' means girl and 'daan' means giving away.

It is a ritual where the father gives away his daughter to the groom saying he has taken care of her like a princess all these years with love and care. He requests the groom to take care of his daughter just the way he had taken care of her all these years; if not more.

And as the meaning behind this gesture made sense to him, Eric smiled and looked at the elder couple saying, "I will take care of her like a little girl. I will never make her cry. I will treat her with respect and love."

And as his words made sense to them, they smiled happily and wiped their tears. For sure, they weren't her real parents but they always loved Mahima like their own. However, with Usha around they couldn't meet her very often but now being able to give away Mahima as their daughter, their dream really came true.

It felt like Eric was not only here to turn Mahima's dreams true but also theirs.

As the priest asked the bride's parents to leave the dice, Mahima and Eric were asked to sit next to one another. Reciting mantras, the priest handed a sacred black bead thread called as 'Mangalsutra' to Eric and asked him to tie it around Mahima's neck.
