Chapter 11: Tit for Tat!

It was around 6:30 in the morning when Eric returned back from his night out. Well, it wasn't a fun night out with friends or family but, it was a necessary one.

Yes, after dropping Mahima near her house, he went away from village to get a few things done on an urgent basis. Of course it is needless to say that he hadn't informed her hoping to give her a surprise worth all her pain and suffering all these years.

He knew her parents would be back by this afternoon and if he was going there to ask them Mahima's hand then for sure he had to take care of a few things. Because knowing Usha and her vicious nature, he knew he had to make his stand stronger than that witch.

And that was the only reason he was out all night finding ways to literally freeze her and put her under spotlight in front of the whole village. And why not? After all, everyone should know what a snake she was and especially Santosh topped that list.

Well, this was the surprise he was talking about with her over that sweet text message he had sent a while back. Xavier, Abhimanyu and Kulkarni kaka had also accompanied him in this wonderful task that will put a huge full stop to all her pains.

"I am going to get some sleep before your 'sudden' wedding in the evening." Xavier muttered making his way into the bungalow while Eric rolled his eyes at his friend who was majorly irritated with him.

And why not?

This man had gone to the extent of blackmailing Xavier for keeping his marriage fiasco from Charlotte. Because knowing Charlotte and her big mouth she would probably announce it to whole Canada and most importantly to their mother, Ruby.

However, Charlotte was aware of Eric's and Mahima's closeness but knowing what a playboy her brother is, she didn't pay much attention to it thinking it was just another silly fling!

Xavier never kept anything from the love of his life and now hiding such a huge sensational news from her was already giving him a severe migraine. And to say he wanted to choke Eric for putting him in such a painful situation would be just nothing.

Eric first wanted to tell his father, Rowan, and then when his father would prepare the ground for him, he would break the news to his mother. If she got the slightest idea that her son got married without even telling her a word about it, then she would probably throw him off the cliff upside down.

Rowan and Eric are more like best friends than father and son. So, his father is the only one who could calm his mother down and get him a safe entry back at home with all his body parts in place.

Heaving a deep sigh, he hurried into the bungalow hoping to see Mahima in the kitchen preparing their breakfast and that awesome tea. However, his eyebrows scrunched a little wondering why there wasn't any beautiful aroma of boiling tea hitting his nostrils like every other morning.

His confusion grew more when he met an empty kitchen. Yes, neither there was that beautiful aroma of tea nor was there any melody of her crinkling bangles and anklets like every other day. Now, this was so strange and unlike her.

Thinking she must have been busy with the preparations considering her parents would be back home this afternoon, he let the confusing thought slide in for a while and entered the bathroom for a shower.

Hoping she had arrived by now, he hurried down the steps only to meet an empty kitchen 'again'. Now this was very weird and something told him that somewhere something was wrong. Unable to control himself, he pulled out his phone and dialled her number without any second thoughts.
