When we got to the doctors I felt a wave of anxiety hit me. I could tell I was feeling just a little more anxious because of the exhaustion that I was feeling.
"Ready for this?" Colby asked as I nodded. "Ready." I said then got out of the car. Colby set up the stroller up while I started pulling Luna out of her car seat. "Hi, love." I whispered as she cuddled into my chest.
"Are you going to be moral support for sissy?" I asked as Colby pulled Nova out and carefully laid her in the stroller.
"Yeah, I know you are." I said then kissed Luna's head before laying her down in the stroller.
"I think I'm starting to lose it." I said as Colby put the stroller cover down. "What do you mean?" Colby asked as we made our way into the building.
"I'm so tired." I said with a laugh. "I can imagine. You haven't slept in like 2 and a half days." He said and pushed the stroller.
"I can't wait until we know what's going on." I said with a yawn. "Yeah, I think she's feeling a little better." Colby said as we made our way inside.
"She had a little fever this morning still, but Luna was still doing okay." I said and opened the door so he could push the stroller into the room.
We walked up to the desk so we could check in. "Hi, we have an appointment for Nova Brock." I said as the receptionist smiled.
"Perfect! We're actually running ahead of schedule so we can bring her back right now." She said as I nodded.
"Follow me." The receptionist said then stood up and led us to the door we needed to go through. She then brought us to one of the exam rooms.
"Okay, a nurse will be in soon to get her vitals." The receptionist said then left the room.
"Come here, sweetheart." I said then carefully pulled Nova out of the stroller. She fussed in my arms as I pulled her into my arms.
"Shhh, I know." I whispered as I sat down. "God, she's so warm." I mumbled as Colby rocked Luna.
"Luna is feeling a little warm, too." Colby said as I frowned. "Don't say that." I said as the door opened. "Hi guys!" A nurse said as she walked into the room. "Hi." Colby and I mumbled as she frowned.
"What's going on?" She asked as Nova hid her face in my chest. "Nova here has a fever and has been having seizures." I said quietly as she nodded.
"Luna doesn't have an appointment but she's feeling a little warm, too." Colby explained as she nodded.
"We can for sure check her temperature. When you say Nova has been having seizures do you know what kind?" The nurse asked as I sighed.
"The one we saw wasn't a tonic clonic. It was more of a focal seizure." I explained as the nurse grabbed her thermometer.
"Okay, I'm gonna have the doctor do some tests on both of them since they are identical. This doesn't mean that they will both have epilepsy. It also doesn't mean either of them will. We just want to check some things out." She explained then looked at me.
She took both of the girls temperatures then grabbed the rest of your vitals. "Okay Luna is sitting at 99.0 so she's not doing too bad. Nova is at 99.8 which is pretty high. I'll send the doctor in though." The nurse said then left the room.
"I'm so nervous." I mumbled as Colby sat next to me. "I know, love." He said then kissed my head as Nova settled into my arms. "Whatever happens though, we're going to get through it as a family." He said as the door opened.
"Hi, guys!" The doctor said as Luna fussed in Colby's arms. "Hey." Colby said then bounced Luna in his arms. "I hear we've got some sick babies." The doctor said as I nodded.
