The next few days were rough. Getting back in the swing of working was growing to be a little more challenging than I thought it would be.

Waking up early to go to work, then being there all day was taking more of a toll on me than it did before. I would come home and try to cook before having to take a nap.

Colby would always make fun of me, telling me that I was like a kindergartner again because I needed nap time every day. It was getting slightly better the more I got adjusted to working though.

"Hey, V!" Aisha said happily as I ate my snack in the locker room at work. "Hey, welcome to work." I said dramatically and gestured around me.

"My favorite place to be, how's it been?" She asked as I shrugged. "It's been fine. People have been a little crotchety but it's nothing we can't handle." I said as she giggled.

"I love getting to be an asshole to them." She said as I nodded in agreement. "I do too, it's the best part of the job." I said then took a sip of water.

We sat and talked for a little while so I could finish my break, then went out on the floor. "Good luck out there." I said and saluted Aisha as she walked in the opposite direction. "You too, page me if you need me!" She called out as my pager went off.

I walked down the hallway to get my cart since I got paged to go to go do a certain scan.

"Violet!" Sophia called out as she jogged after me. "What's up?" I asked and looked over at her. "When you're done doing what you're doing can you come to my office, I have to ask you something." She said as I nodded.

"I'm already married, so I hope that's not the question." I teased as she laughed. "Damnit. Never mind then." She joked as I shook my head. "I'll be there after this scan." I said with a nod as she smiled.

"Perfect." She said then walked away as I grabbed my cart. I sighed then walked to the room I needed to go to.

"Hi, Mr. Richards! My name is Violet, and I'm going to be taking care of you." I said as the old man smiled. "Hello, dear." He said as I walked over to start setting him up.

I could tell he was a little nervous so I started talking to him to keep him calm.

"My last name used to be Richards." I said and pointed to my badge. "Used to?" He asked as I nodded.

"Yeah, I just got married a couple weeks ago. Don't tell my husband but I thought about keeping my name." I said with a small smile as I set him up.

"What's your new last name?" He asked as I giggled. "Brock." I said as he grimaced. "Richards is better." He teased as I smiled. "Ya think so?" I asked then started doing the scan.

"Yep." He said with a single nod. I did love my last name because it was obviously my dad's but I also loved that Colby and I now shared the same last name.

There was something so special about that.

"Alright, it looks like your heart is doing okay but I'm gonna send your doctor in to double check for me. I'll send him in." I said as I started packing up my stuff.

"Okay, dear. I hope you have a good day." He said as I smiled. "I hope you do, too." I said then made my way out of the room.

I went down the hallway so I could sanitize my cart and put it away before going to Sophia's office.

"You had a question for me?" I asked as I poked my head into the office. "Yeah, come here." Sophia said and pointed to the chair across from her.

"I was wondering how you would feel about training someone." She said as my blood ran cold. "Can I say no?" I asked as she nodded. "Of course." She said as I nodded.

"I think I'm going to say no, just because the last time I trained someone they ended up stalking and kidnapping me." I said as she nodded. "Valid. I know Brady wanted you to train her because you are the best at this job, but I understand you not wanting to." She said as I nodded.

"I'd be happy to help in any way I can but I can't be one on one with them." I said as she smiled and nodded. "Okay, I respect that. I'll let Brady know that you don't feel comfortable with it." She said then wrote something down.

"Now tell me about your trip." She said as I giggled. We spent the next couple minutes talking about my honeymoon before she got paged to leave.

"You're off right?" She asked as we left the office. I checked the time then nodded. "Yep!" I said as she nodded. "Have a great day!" She said as I waved. "Bye, Sophia!" I said then turned to go into the locker room.

I yawned as I changed my shoes and put my jacket on. Once I had everything I made my way to my car and started driving home. As I did this I called Colby so I could see what he was up to.

"Hey, beautiful." He answered as I focused on the road. "Hey, what are you up to?" I asked as he breathed a laugh. "I'm about to leave to go to a meeting." He explained as I nodded. "When will you be home?" I asked and tapped my fingers on the steering wheel.

"Probably around 7 or 8." Colby said as I nodded. "I'll have dinner for you." I said as he chuckled. "After nap time?" He asked as I nodded. "Of course. I think it'll be a short nap though, I'm not too tired today." I said with a smile.

"Maybe I'll even get to unpacking and doing laundry." I said hopefully. "That would be good, I tried to do it this morning but got distracted." He said as I laughed.

"What have we become?" I laughed out as he chuckled. "In denial." He said as I nodded. "Listen, I gotta go but I expect to see your fine ass when I get home." He said as I nodded. "Of course you will." I said with a smile.

"Okay, love you baby." He said as my heart warmed up. "Love you, too." I said then hung up.

When I got home I felt a wave of exhaustion hit me, causing me to yawn. "No. Unpack." I said to myself as I went into the house.

When I got up there I decided to take a quick shower so I would be energized enough to actually get some stuff done.

As soon as I was done with that I laid in bed and went on my phone for a little bit. I could feel myself starting to dose off a little bit so I got up and walked over to our suitcases.

I started with Colby's since he already started his. I sorted through his clothes, throwing things into piles so I could do the laundry.

It wasn't exactly the most fun thing to be doing but I put on some music and tried to get in the groove so I could at least kind of enjoy it.

Once I was done with Colby's I moved onto my bag. I started with the clothes, tossing them into the same piles that Colby's clothes were in.

When I was finished with the clothes, I grabbed my bag and walked to the bathroom so I could put my toiletries away.

I was almost done when I noticed the box of tampons that were at the bottom of my bag. I felt my heart stop slightly as I pulled them out.

I felt my brain move a million miles a minute as I tried to recall when my last period was. I remember packing the tampons because I knew I was going to start a couple days into the trip.

"You've gotta be fucking shitting me." I whispered as I stared at the box of unused tampons.
