Peggy POV:
It was Senior Year. The past 3 years have been the hardest for me. That was, until Samuel Seabury came into my life. We have been dating for 4 months and he is the best boyfriend I could ask for.
He helped me through some really dark times. My mom died 3 years ago, my dad was never home, my sisters ignored me constantly. I felt like I had no meaning in the world. Sam helped me realize I did. He helped me get back on my feet and finally be happy again.
He started coming to all of my therapy sessions. He helped me start writing music again.
He doesn't know it yet, but I've been working on a song for him and I've decided to sing it for him on his birthday tomorrow.

Narrator POV:
The next day, Peggy had sent Sam out for some "last minute decorations" while she set up for her special performance.
She had her best friend, Theodosia Bartow, make sure to tell her when Sam came back so she could start.
Peggy also invited Sam's friends, "King" George III and Charles Lee, to come over for Sam's party. She didn't dare invite Sam's family. He doesn't talk to them anymore since a fight they had but that's a story for a different time.
Theodosia gave Peggy the signal that Sam was coming so she turned on the spot light and hooked up her guitar to the speaker.
Same walked in, looking confused as he held some party streamers in his hand.
Peggy smiled and strummed her guitar and started singing.

Peggy looked at him, nervous he hated it.
A smile broke out on Sam's face and he scooped up Peggy, spinning her around. Peggy laughed and kissed him.
"Happy birthday, Sammy." She smiled.
