"I'm glad Colby called you..I was wondering if you maybe wanted to come with us to the dress place....maybe we could look together." I said as she smiled. "Of course. I'd love to be there." She said as I looked at the message that came in.
Ki: Hey babes, did you want me to pick you up?
"Would you be ready to go in a few minutes?" I asked as she nodded. "I'm ready now! I took a nap on the plane so I'm ready to go." She said with a smile. "Okay, what about a snack? Are you hungry?" I asked and brushed my hands on my pants.
"You're so sweet, I'm alright." She said as I texted Ki back that I was going to drive separately. "Okay, maybe we can meet up with Colby for dinner somewhere." I said then grabbed my keys.
"Or we could sneak off on our own." She said then wiggled her eyebrows. "That sounds good too." I said with a smile then led the way to the door.
When we got to the dress boutique we met with Kat, Ki, Tara, and Devyn.
"Hey! How are you feeling?" Ki asked as she hugged me. "I'm good, Colby flew his mom out so she's going to look at dresses for us." I said as she smiled. "Us?" She asked with a smirk. "Yeah..us." I said as she nodded then linked her arm through mine.
"Hi, welcome to Modern Bride! My name is Shelly, can I offer you some champagne?" The chipper blonde said as we all walked into the building.
"Sure." I said as she nodded and popped a bottle and distributed it to all of us. "What are we looking for today?" She asked as I sighed. "I wanted to look at some wedding gowns, and we wanted to see the bridesmaids dresses you offer." I said as she nodded.
"We can do that! Come on back." She said then led us to one of the little rooms they had. "What would you like to start with?" Shelly asked as we got settled in.
"We can start with the bridesmaids." I said with a nod. "Okay, did you have any colors in mind?" She asked as I nodded. "Yeah, our colors are emerald green and gold." I explained as she nodded. "Gorgeous. Long or short style?" She asked and typed something into her tablet.
"Long, maybe made of silk? I don't know." I said with a small laugh. "Okay, I'm going to bring the girls with me and we will come back in a bunch of different styles." Shelly said then motioned for the girls to stand up. "We'll be back." She said then led them out of the room.
"Do you have any vision for your dress?" Colby's mom asked as I shrugged. "All I know is that I don't want big poofy ball gown." I said with a laugh. "Well that's a good first step." She said with a nod.
"Maybe we can look on Google." I said as she pulled her phone out. "Good idea." She said then typed in wedding dresses.
We sat there for a few minutes going through different styles before the girls came back in all different kinds of dressss.
"We look hot." Tara said as they all looked in the mirror. Devyn was wearing a spaghetti strap dress that went down in a v neck and flowed out from the waist. Tara has a strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline thats sinched at the waist and flowed out from there.
Kat was wearing a halter top dressy that sinched at the waist and flowed out but there was a slot on one side of the skirt. Lastly, Ki was wearing a dress with thicker strapped that had a v neck and was tighter to her curves.
"Hmmm..." I said as they all turned. "I think I like Kat's the best." I said and examined each of the dresses. "Okay, did you want to see more options or all of them in that style?" Shelly asked as I looked at the dress one more time. "All of them in that style." I said with a nod. "Okay, we'll be back." She said then whisked Ki, Tara, and Devyn away.
"What do you think?" I asked Kat as she looked down. "I love it so much." She said then twirled slightly. "I do, too." I said with a smile.
After a few minutes they all came back and stood in front of me. "What do you guys think?" I asked as they turned to the mirror.
"I love it." Devyn said with a wide smile. "Yeah, I think we all look really good." Tara agreed. "We look so hot." Ki said with a laugh. "I think we have a winner." I said to Shelly. "Perfect! We can order them then get started on your gown." She said then clapped her hands.
We spent the next half hour or so ordering the dresses. Once all the girls were back in their normal clothes Shelly turned to me.
"Okay, what were you thinking for your dress?" She asked as I shook my head. "Anything but a big ball gown." I said with a laugh.
"Okay, do you want straps? Sleeves? Sleeveless?" She asked as I twisted my ring. "Preferably with some sort of sleeve." I said as she nodded. "Okay, come on back, I'll pick some styles out and we can go from there." She said as I stood up.
"Have fun, V! We'll see you in a minute." Ki said with a smile as I got led out of the room. I was brought back to a dressing room so Shelly could grab some dresses.
