Rory giggled as Mitch picked her up and spun around with her on the ice. They're having an open practice today and Mitch brought his daughter out onto the ice to practice for her upcoming camp. Everyone in the stands watching the practice smiled brightly when they saw the little girl come out. The admin was sure to take pictures to not only send to Mitch and Steph but also to release on social media to show the people what they're missing not going.
"Daddy slow down!" Rory squealed as her dad placed her on his hip and skated around to where Auston was stood.
"Rory!" Auston smiled, hugging the girl when she reached out for a hug.
"Matty!" She grinned, squirming and being placed down by Mitch. Of course, she didn't slip because she quite literally lives on that ice.
The two chatted a bit, Matthews down on his knee to be closer to her so he could hear her. Mitch smiled while watching his best friend, who watched Aurora grow up, connect with her. He is, after all, her favourite babysitter.
"Okay, Rory. Wanna go shoot on Jonesy?" Mitch asked his daughter, who nodded so fast she almost got whiplash. The two went over to where Jones was in his net, sitting on his pads while the team worked on the other end with Sammy.
"Jonesy!" Rory yelled happily, running over to her favourite goalie ever and hugging him tight.
"Hey, mini Marner." He laughed, hugging her back.
"Can I shoot on you?" She asked him. Of course, he nodded.
The girl ran over to the bench, putting her little skates on with the help of her dad, grabbing her little stick that stayed at the arena and skated over to him. She grabbed a puck on her stick and sped over to her as fast as a three year old can. Her hands moved and deked out the goalie somehow, shooting it top left after he went to make the pad save. She cellied while Jones shot his eyebrows up in shock towards Mitch.
Rory just grinned and skated off to the bench, getting the admin to help take her little skates off quickly. Mitch was shocked before, like his daughter, he grinned and looked towards Martin Jones.
"Like father like daughter."
