"And the Olds Grizzilys are going into overtime." The announcer spoke over the arena speakers. Amber groaned softly, watching her boyfriend skate to the other end.
They're playing the Camrose Kodiaks and they're going into overtime after the score being 2-2 after the third period. The ginger is nervous because the Grizzlys aren't very good when it comes to the pressure of the 5 minute 3 on 3 period.
The buzzer went, indicating the end of the timeout and the goalies both skated to their respective nets. The girl took a deep breath that she didn't let out once the clock started ticking down. Unfortunately, the Grizzlys lost 2-3 within 40 seconds of the overtime.
Amber sighed and grabbed her things, walking down to the lobby area where the players come out after games. Maybe 20 minutes later players started emerging from the room, saddened looks on their faces. She gave them all small smiles, which they nodded at her while walking by. Thomas was one of the last people out.
She gave him a small hug while he closed his eyes and melted into her touch. His head fell onto her shoulder, which caused pain in his neck but at that moment he didn't care. He had the girl he loves in his arms, and in that moment, no losses mattered to him.
