Thirty-Seven

'Captain? Captain are you alright?'... Steve heard someone calling him, and he felt himself be shaken. He opened his eyes, looking up at the ceiling. He frowned, trying to clear his vision, and he turned his head, seeing Shuri stood next to the table that he was on, and she was smiling at him again. He smiled back, sighing to himself. Her enthusiasm was infectious.

'Did it work?'... He asks, his eyes watching her, and she nods her head. He carefully sits up, as one of her assistants come to remove the wires from his head.

'Ihobe is still asleep, but her brain activity has increased, as has her heart rate. Whatever you did Captain, certainly helped..'... Steve didn't miss the look she gave him, and he could feel a blush creep up his neck. Once he was free from the wires, he hopped off the table, seeing Tony stood, holding Lias hand.

'Tony?..'.. Steve watches his friend smile, and look up at him.

'I don't want to know what you did Cap, but from the way you two had the machines going, I'm guessing you got her free?'... Tony gave his a look, and Steve ran a hand over his face.

'Nothing happened Tony..'.. Steve shook his head... 'I just made her angry like I usually do..'.. Steve walked around the other side of Lia, where Wanda stood. She smiled at him, her eyes sparkling as though she knew the truth.

The three of them wait patiently, for her to wake up, talking amongst themselves. After a short while, Bucky walks in, a huge smile on his face, as they see his new arm. Steve couldn't help but grin, the look on his friends face, was just like the old Bucky, from before the war.

Lia had done that, she brought his friend back, and freed him from his demons... 'How do you feel?'... Steve asks, as Bucky stops next to Tony.

Bucky looks down at his new arm. It felt light, and moved so much better than the Hydra one. He loved the colours, and he loved her. Not romantically, but as a friend, family. She had helped to remove the last trace of the soldier. He looked around at the other three, unable to contain his smile... 'I feel free. I'm free..'.. He shook his head, fighting back the emotions that began to overwhelm him.

'Don't you dare cry, you'll rust the arm..'.. They all looked at her, seeing her awake, and smirking at Bucky... 'I'm sure Ellie would love to take it for a ride..'... She wiggled her eyebrows at him, and he burst out laughing.

'I missed you trouble..'.. Bucky leaned down to kiss her on the head... 'Thank you..'... He said, standing back up, and looking at his arm. He turned back to her... 'You have no idea what this means to me..'

'Yeah, I do. You deserve to be free Buck, and now you are..'.. She smiled at him, and then turned to Tony... 'Couldn't live without me, huh? Hell, I can't even sleep without you falling apart. I need food, lots of food, and a drink. My mouth is drier thank your sex life right now..'

The four of them coughed, as they tried to cover their laughs. She turned to Wanda, reaching a hand out to her... 'I won't bite, unless I'm asked to..'.. Wanda slipped her hand into Lias... 'Thank you. I couldn't be sure if I was seeing you or not, but I guess you were trying to help me?'.. Wanda nodded at her.

Lia took her hand back, and began to pull the wires from her...'Whoa, hold on. Shuri needs to-..'... She scowled at Steve, as she pushed herself to sit up. She felt weak, but needed to move.

'Really frosty, still not learning that lesson? Need me to put you on your ass again?'... She swung herself to the side, taking a deep breath... 'I'll deal with you later. Usisi (sister)..'.. She called out, seeing Shuri rush over to her, pushing past Cap and Wanda to hug her.

Lia laughed, as her little princess hugged her tight, speaking in Xhosa so the others didn't understand... 'I missed you too little one..'.. They parted and Lia looked between the four, them back at Shuri... 'Did they behave?'

'They have been exceptional guests. It took your brother 2 weeks to break my encryption, but only because I pittied him. He was trying very hard...'... Shuri tells her, causing her to laugh out loud.

'You let him in? Shuri, how is he supposed to learn, if you let him off easy..'.. Lia chuckled.

'How do you feel?'... Shuri asks her, as she uses her kimoyo beads to scan Lia.

'So hungry, and weak. Guess I need to build up my strength again. Thank you sister, for helping me..'.. Lia bowed her head to Shuri. She really did love the girl, she was amazing, talented and smart. She always lit up a room with her aura.

'Mother and father will be pleased you are awake. And so will my brother..'.. Lia watches as Shuris eyes dart to Cap... 'You love him still?'

Lia sighs, nodding her head... 'Always will..'

They switch back to English for the others, so they didn't feel left out... 'Your vitals are good. You are a little undernourished, and will need to begin a new regime to rebuild your strength and muscles, but you are cleared to go..'

Lia carefully tried to stand, but her legs were weak. She felt an arm come around her, and she leaned into him for support... 'Thank you Shuri, for everything. I am in your debt..'

'Absolutely not..'... They turn, seeing the queen enter the lab. Lia grins at the woman, and holds her arms out. Steve let's her go slightly, so the two women could hug... 'You owe us nothing Ihobe. There is nothing compared to what you have done for us. It is good to see you awake..'.. Ramonda cups Lias face with both hands, smiling at her.

'It is good to be awake queen mother..'.. The queen gave her a stern look, and Lia chuckled.. 'Sorry, umama'

'That is better. You have never been formal, so why start now..'... Romonda sighs, smiling... 'Come, let's take you to your room for you to rest. Dinner will be ready in due time...'

'Oh, do you still have my suit?'... Lia asks, leaning into Steve as they all followed the queen.

'Of course. We kept your room, for when you would return. Everything is as you left it..'... Ramonda smiled across at her, seeing how Lia leaned into the Captain. The Queen smiled to herself, they girl deserved happiness, after everything she had been through.

Lia had finished dressing herself, and although her dress was a little loose since the last time she had worn it, she couldn't help but smile. She loved her time in Wakanda, and the people. The king and Queen had taken to her, after she had fought against mercenaries, outside of their boarders, saving their people. She had come to the aid of their son, when he was almost captured, saving his life and risking her own.

T'Challa and Shuri had in the last two years, began to call her sister, and she had returned the call. She loved this place, it was one of the few she could call a home.

Looking down at herself, she moved to her table, picking up her kimoyo beads, and her jewellery, that was gifted to her by the king and Queen. Just as she put her earrings in, she heard a knock at her door. Taking deep breath, she walked over and opened it, seeing a stunned Cap, looking her up and down, while Kira, one of the Dora smirked from behind him.
