Kate was stuffed with every bit of information she needed to know. She was silent for sometime as she didn't know how to respond. She blinked her eyes unable to process everything in her head.
"Kate, you okay?" Max enquired.
"Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be? I am a vampire. My boyfriend is a werewolf. His brother is a hybrid. And my best friends, a vampire-witch and a human kept everything a secret from me until I did something mad. So I am so damn okay." Kate snapped.
A laugh accidentally escaped Max's mouth hearing her reply.
"Why the hell are you laughing, you dumbass?" Kate questioned.
"Oh, no. I am sorry." Max apologized.
"Do you have any idea what will happen if the royals come to know that I am dating a werewolf?" Kate questioned.
Max knew the answer but she stood silent.
"They will kill me, Max. Especially your Aiten. And you know what's worse? Jacob knows everything and he threatened me that he would inform the royals about me." Kate said gritting her teeth in rage and helplessness.
Fear lighted up in Max's eyes.
"How did he come to know about this?" Max asked,shock reverberating from her voice.
Kate explained the whole conversation she had with her dreadful ex-husband.
"You are not alone, Kate. The whole pack is with you. I am there for you in case if you need a witch." Max assured her to calm down her mind.
Kate sighed.
"What are you going to do about Seth?" Max asked.
"I don't have an other option but to be with him. He will be behind even if I run away from him. The mate bond is very strong. He must have suffered enough when I rejected him." Kate paused for a second and then continued,
"He always tried to protect everyone around him which includes me. So it's really unfair if I leave him right now."
Max raised her eyebrow questioningly.
"I am gonna be by his side no matter whatever happens." Kate replied giving the perfect answer to Max's doubt.
"So, you are gonna continue?" Max enquired with a grin.
"Yeah." She paused and continued seeing the frown on Max's face,
"Not just because he engraved on me."
"Then?" Max asked.
"Because I love him." Kate answered.
Max gave her a happy smile for her decision.
"Kate, don't you think Emy deserves your apology?" Max asked.
"Of course she does. And that's number one on my to-do list." Kate replied.

Emy walked to the Stevenson residence after her terrible encounter with Jacob and his new girlfriend Neorah who is also her mother-in-law. She dialed James's number in her cellphone.
- Emy?
James,where are you?
- I am in the woods.
I almost reached your home.
- I am coming. Just a minute.
He ended the call.
"Bro, Emy's at our house. I am going inside. Are you coming or do you wanna stay here some more time?" James asked Seth.
"Nope. I wanna be alone sometime. By the way, just grab a pants for me." He replied.
"Kay." James replied back and did as he was told.

Emy jumped into James's arms as soon as she saw him. James sensed her heart beating faster than usual and hugged her tightly to comfort her.
Emy told him about her encounter with his mother and Jacob. James was shocked to hear that.
"What the hell? She is with that stupid bloodsucker?" He asked in shock.
"Unfortunately, yes." Emy replied.
"Two awfully insane vampires together? Emy there's more trouble in our way." James stated.
"I know." Emy replied.
"Where is Seth?" She asked.
"He is still in the woods. He is totally broken. " James answered.
"Let me go and talk to him." Emy said.
"No Emy, let him stay alone for sometime. He need some time for himself." He replied.
While they talked they saw someone at their doorway. It was Kate. James quickly stood in front of Emy in a way to protect her if in case Kate did something insane.
"James, calm down. I am not here to hurt her. I am here to apologize." Kate explained.
"How can I believe you after I saw what you did to her some time ago?" James roared at her.
"I am so sorry, Emy. " Kate apologised bursting into tears thinking what she did to her best friend.
James held Emy's hand tightly afraid if Kate was acting. He doubted if Kate would do something stupid to his Emy. He was scared of Kate.
Emy on the other hand,trusted her best friend and was sure that her behaviour was genuine. Emy kept her other hand on top of his hand. He stared at her, amazed by her action, to which she gave a 'cool down,she won't hurt me' look. He let go of her hand.
Emy walked towards her and hugged her tightly. Kate hugged her back tight and cried her heart out for hurting her.
"I am so sorry, Emy. I was so out of mind. Forgive me,please." Kate sobbed loud.
"I am sorry too. I hid everything from you." Emy replied crying.
Just then Max came. Emy looked at her and she gave a reassuring smile. Emy mouthed 'thank you' to her.
Kate broke out from the hug and asked looking at both Emy and James,
"Where is Seth?"
"He is in the woods." James answered.
"I must have hurt him him a lot. Let me go see him." Kate said and rushed towards the woods.
Soon she found him with her strong vampiric sense of smell. He was sitting on the ground, leaning his back on one of the trees. His eyelids were closed and tears were streaming down from them. He was holding his chest tightly with his hand as if he were in pain. He sobbed lightly.
Kate felt an excruciating pain in her chest when she saw Seth like that. She sat beside him quietly and placed her hand on top of his.
Seth was surprised by the sudden touch which he longed for. He opened his eyes eager to see the beauty of his life.
"Kate?" He called aloud in astonishment.
Kate hugged him tightly. Seth returned the hug with every love he felt for her. Being in her arms meant the world to him. He felt the broken pieces of his heart rejoining with perfection. Her cold body neutralised the heat of worry within him. It made him feel alive.
"I am so sorry, Kate. I shouldn't have hid anything from you. I did something unforgivable." Seth exploded into tears.
Kate felt his fast heartbeat slowing down to normal. She knew it was because of her. Her presence was the cure to his ailment. She too felt a huge burden taken away from her.
He was the one for her. No matter whatever happen between them, she was happy when she had him. He made her realise what true love was. And she knew that she was incomplete without him.
She broke out from the hug and kissed him with every inch of love and affection she felt for him.
"It's fine. Don't stress yourself thinking about all those. I can understand why you did it." She paused.
"And I am sorry too. I made you suffer." Kate apologised.
"No. You didn't. Not intentionally. You didn't know anything." Seth corrected her.
"I love you, Seth." Kate mumbled leaning her face to his.
"I love you, Kate." Seth kissed her forehead.
