Everyone new Oikawa Tooru's name, even those who didn't go to his school. His fan girls were your everyday classical Barbie dolls who'd make him bento's and yell at him to notice them.
But you, you were different. You were to prideful to get up and beg for the boys attention.
So using your creativity, you managed to get the bright idea of leaving special messages for Oikawa. You were sure he got fan girl letters all the time, so you put it the only place no one else would dare to put it.
In his gym back.
So everyday after school, you'd wait till the boys were changed for practice, and then sneak your note into Oikawa's bag. In the letters, you never confessed your undying love through cheesy poems - no, you gave mysterious quotes so he'd never figure you out unless you wanted him to, sayings and sometimes questions to get him thinking.
Best part was - you were the manager of Aobajōsai's high school boys volley ball team. You watched as Oikawa got your notes, you would print it out in a very basic font so he couldn't tell it was your writing, and played dumb like a pro.
"Oi! Shittykawa! Your dazing off again!" Iawaizumi yelled, glaring at his friend.
Oikawa looked over at him and glared with a pout, "Hmph. Leave me alone you meanie!"
"Did you get another one of those letters again?"
"Yeah..." Oikawa answered.
"What did it say?" Akira asked.
"It said 'Are you lonely, up there in utopia, where nothing will ever be enough, happily numb?'."
"Whoa- that's deep." Matsukawa began.
"I originally thought it was one of my crazy fan girls, but based on what she's saying she's definitely not." Oikawa sighed, scratching the back of his head in deep thought.
"Why don't you just look over all the notes. Look at the signs, how she's different. Find her, you could do it." Watari said with a slight smile of encouragement.
You stiffened, Oikawa was like a detective - there's a big possibility that if he really put his mind to it he could figure you out. Especially now that his friends are encouraging him to take this as he would take a volley ball game.
You cursed under your breath and quickly made your entrance, "Boys! What are you doing? It's getting late, come on clean up!"
"Right!"
"Sorry, Y/N-San!"

The next day, you were thinking about what to write to Oikawa. Usually you had a list of things to say, but today you were having some kind of writers block for some reason.
"Good morning, Y/N-chan. How are you?"
You looked up to the chocolate brown haired boy, a light smile on his face. This time it was genuine.
"Good morning Oikawa-San. I'm doing alright, you?"
"Ugh... Up late last night." Oikawa sighed, sliding into his seat behind me in home room.
"Again?" You asked, turning around in your chair to look at him.
"Yeah... A lots going on you know?"
You smiled lightly, knowing he was referring to the letters.
"Your life is always busy, Oikawa."
"Yeah, you're right. Hey Y/N? Do you know the person giving me the letters?"
You blinked, swallowing hard. You could lie, or you could say you did but not give him a name.
But that would only make him get really annoying...
"Oikawa-sempai! Good morning!" A girl squealed from the halls. A few followed with the same words, and his smile became that fake one again.

You smiled at it, it was a little deep just like the last few had turned out to be. You swiftly stuck it in Oikawa's bag before heading to the gym.
"Y/N-San your late today!"
"Yeah sorry about that! Well what are you waiting for, get started!"
"Right!"
You grumbled as a few giggles came from the door, the girls blushed at the sight of Oikawa practicing. They waved and Mr. Oh-so-popular stopped to do his forced smile and wave back as you stomped your foot in annoyance.
"Y/N-Chan, can we let them watch? Just this once?"
"As long as they wont be a distraction." You sighed in reply, the girls grinning and running in to watch.
Half way through the practice, you were sitting and thinking of further set up plans and dinner places for wins and even loses, and one of Oikawa's strong serves went off course. The girls screamed at you to duck, but your only reaction was to look up in confusion and before you could think to move out of the way, the ball had already smashed into your face, sending your body back off the bench and onto the floor.
You pulled your legs off the bench and couldn't help the immediate tears falling from your eyes. You curled up in the floor and covered your face as you let out a sob of pain.
Your nose killed, your entire face burned and your eyes stung from the dust. The boys yelled and ran over, Iawaizumi placing a hand on your shoulder and asking you if you were okay.
"That's a dumb question, of course she's not." Kyotani grumbled, "I'll help her to the nurse."
You calmed down, taking Kyotani's hand and letting him help you up. You hugged your sides, sniffing, you felt a thick liquid drip over your lip.
"She has a nose bleed! Get some towels or tissues or something!" The players yelled, the two fan girls coming up and handing you some tissues, apologizing.
"It wasn't your fault." You said shakily. You took the tissues and wiped your nose, holding it against your nostrils you stayed by Kyotani as he led you towards the nurses office.
"Y/N-chan! I'm so sorry!" Oikawa began, you turned to look back at him, seeing the worry in his eyes.
"It happens, Oikawa." You chocked out, turning back and walking off.
Oikawa Tooru
I leaned against the wall with a light smile - a genuine one - looking at the girl from across the room. It was so obvious, especially after I hit her in the face with my serve.
She sniffed, putting a strand of hair behind her ear and looking intently down to her doodles.
After she got hit, she didn't come to school the next day and I didn't get a letter. She came late to practice that day, which meant she was doing something somewhere, but she didn't say so it made it mysterious.
How could I not have guessed? The one girl that knew me, the one girl that was different from the rest.
Y/N L/N. The most beautiful of all of my admirers. The most important and inspirational one.
"Y/N-chan." I said as I walked over, coming up in front of her.
She looked up, "Good morning, Oikawa-San."
I smiled at her and a smile of her own etched onto her face. I handed her the letter, and she confusedly took it from my fingers. She looked at me before back to the letter, opening it and reading the contents.
