The game ends and Devenford Prep has won. I crow in victory until the lights turn out. I hear hushed whispering before the lights turn back on. Devenford Prep's lacrosse players each hold a sign and I look at them all, slowly piecing what it says. Kayla will you marry me? I then look at the end of the line and see Brett down on one knee, holding a box. The crowd remains silent as my eyes start to water.
I run down as fast as I can so I'm standing in front of Brett.
"Will you make me the happiest man alive Kayla?"
He asks and I yell out but it doesn't seem loud enough.
"Yes Brett Talbot yes!"
The crowd erupts into cheers and he places the ring on my left fourth finger. I then hug him so tight and we fall down, me on top of him and I see tears in his own eyes. He then kisses me and I think of how lucky I am, to soon be calling myself Mrs Kayla Talbot.
