It was a great day. Thomas could feel it in his bones.
The sun was shining brightly. His parents were happily chatting in the garden behind their house. Zaide was reading a book on the porch with his head on Thomas' lap.
Thomas ran his hands through Zaide's hair and the younger boy almost closed his eyes in bliss. Zaide looked up and he leaned down, giving him a small peck on the lips.
"Wanna go to the lakes?" Zaide asked, smiling up at Thomas and he knew the answer of that immediately.
"We're going out for a bit." Thomas informed his parents before they left.
In the front of the house, Zaide saw the disappointed look on his uncle's face.
His uncle and aunt was on the same page as his parents. They had stopped talking to Andrew and Molly after they came to know about his relationship with Thomas.
It had left a pang in his chest before he accepted the fact that not everyone was going to accept them with open arms.
Thomas took Zaide's hand in his and with a smile they walked down the road.
