Thomas parked the car outside his house and walked towards Zaide's.
The lights in Siddiki house were out, except Zaide's room, it was well-lit as usual, but Thomas could not see him.
He climbed up to the window and saw a worried Zaide sitting on in his bed, nervous, jiggling his legs.
He whistled once before climbing through the window.
"Shh," Zaide shushed him as he stood up in panic, "Quiet, you, idiot."
"What did you just call me?" Thomas advanced one step forward and Zaide sat down on his bed, eyes wide like a saucer.
"I'm, I'm..." Thomas burst out laughing. He ruffled the smaller boy's hair before he calmed down. His hand slid down from Zaide's hair to his cheek.
Before Thomas would go and do something so stupid that he would regret later, he retrieved his hand.
