"What're you doing?" Philip panicked, almost shouted, when Zara tried to... do something with him. He was not sure what she was trying to do or how to handle her.
Zara sighed. She felt bad for using Philip like that, forcing the boy to hold hands.
"Look, I know you're Thomas' friend and the only way to make him jealous. Please, Phil, help me. I want Thomas to realise what he's been missing."
Philip almost laughed at her face. She could be naive when she wanted to. Could not she see how much Thomas was head over heels for Zaide? And it was not even one-sided! How could one be so blind?
He crossed his arms over his chest to maintain some distance between them. "And you think what he's been missing is you? Where did you even get this idea?"
She glared. If she did not need his help and he was not one of Thomas' close friends, she would have punched him in the guts. "Zaide." She answered shortly.
He was convinced for the rest of the day that he was definitely hearing things.
