Dan looked around the library only to find it empty, not even the librarian was there.
"What are you doing here?" Dan's voice boomed.
'Playing basketball' was on the tip of Rome's tongue.
"Returning these books." Rome showed them to Dan.
He nodded his head and called out for Mrs. O'Neal, but she was nowhere near to be seen or heard.
"She isn't here. Let's go." Dan's phone vibrated in his pocket.
"It's my last day to return these books, otherwise I'll have to pay the fine."
"I'll talk to her later about this." Dan said calmly and ignored the vibrating device in his pocket, again.
"You should take that." One glare from Dan shut Rome up.
