Until I Met You

Chapter 2

"Tegan come on" I yelled again

First I'm missed my class  and now I'm going to be late to work I quickly pulled out my phone again checking the time

"Tegan I am already four minutes late for work and it's a long walk there let's go" what could she be possibly doing up there

Tegan hurried down the stairs "Calm down I'm coming man you sound like mom" she said walking out the door

I watch her walk over to the elevator and stared at her "That is so mean" I said walking out and locking the door

"Can we stop by Starbucks" Tegan asked once we made it to the cross walk

"We can't I'm already late" I pressed the button and looked at her "If you wouldn't have taken so long to leave we probably could've"

Tegan pulled out her phone "Well if you had a car we wouldn't have"-

My body froze when the words left her moth and she quickly looked at me "I'm sorry I didn't mean"

But I cut her off "No it's fine" I gave her a smile but she still had a guilty look on her face

Finally, the cars stopped and everyone begun to walk

Tegan pulled out her phone and went to walk away but I pulled her arm

A black car came speeding towards us almost hitting us in the process

"Are you ok" I asked scanning her over just to make sure she wasn't hurt

She nodded her head looking a little shocked "Jack-ass" She yelled over at the car

The car stopped and someone stepped out

Tegan looked over at me with fear on her face and I laughed

A tall guy walked over towards us in a hurry "I am so sorry are you guys ok" he asked

Tegan gave him a slight smile "I think" I looked over at her

"what are you crazy" I asked turning back towards him "we had the right you could have killed someone"

He looked over at me "I know I'm sorry there was an emerg- "

"That's not an excuse next time watch what you're doing" I said grabbing Tegan's hand and pulling her with me

"Is there anything I can do to apologize" he  asked catching up to us

"No not really we have to go" I said walking faster to get away from him

"Come on Kylie you could have been nicer" Tegan said as we walked into the Diner

I stopped and looked at her "are you joking he could have hurt you"

"yea but he said sorry" she said walking over to the counter, I followed and pulled on my apron

"You are only saying that because you think he's cute" I quickly pulled my dirty blonde hair into a low ponytail

Tegan rolled her eyes and got on her phone

"Your late sweetie" Mrs. Campwell said scarring me

"I know I'm sorry I'm getting started right now" I apologized walking over to her

"How is Sawyer" I asked looking down at the baby in her arms

Sawyer smiled at me and I laughed "She's fine" Mrs. Campwell said with a smile "Been keeping me company till Lilly showed up"

Mrs. Campwell is Lilly's mom and also my boss

Lilly and I met in 7th grade during a science experiment gone wrong and been best friends since then

During the middle of Freshman year of High school Lilly's parents decided it would be a great idea to move from North Carolina to California, Lilly didn't want to move but it had better job offers for her dad

After a lot of convincing to her parents they both decided to let Lilly stay with my family so she could finish up the year and then she ended up staying for the next three years till we both graduated high school

"How was your morning classes today" she asked taking a seat

"I don't know I didn't go" I said putting on my hat

She looked at me confused

I pointed over to Tegan

"When did you get here Anna" Mrs. Campwell asked

Jackie has nicknames for everyone Tegan is Anna because it's her middle name

Tegan put down her phone and looked over at her "Mama Jackie" she said walking over to her giving her a hug

"Hi sweetie" she said patting her back

"Mom flew her out here to me so she can get a better attitude" I said as I walked over to a table and pour an old man some more coffee

"Hi Stan how have you been"

"Same old same old what about you" he asked with a sympathetic look 

I smiled "I'm doing great how about another slice of pie" I asked picking up his plate "It's on the house"

Stan nod his head and I walked back over to the counter

"Whatever you did I'm glad you are here" Jackie said

Tegan smiled and started playing with Sawyer
