Ron and I were currently walking to Potions which was our last class of the day. I was excited to get it over with since I had a hefty Transfiguration essay I had to finish by tomorrow.

"Why can't you just go make up with her," I complained to Ron while we were walking in the corridor. We just had to change our path because Hermione and Ginny were walking towards us from the other way, it was getting a bit ridiculous.

"Well I can't help it if she's got her knickers in a twist," he shrugged.

"Ron don't be a dick," I narrowed my eyes.

"Seriously though. What Lav and I have, well, let's just say, there's no stopping it," he had a weird kind of look on his face and I had to keep myself from physical gagging, "it's chemical. Will it last? Who knows? Point is I'm a free agent." I shook my head and decided to end the conversation. I would always take Hermione's side in cases like these, and I wasn't about to spark another fight in my friend group.

We got to Slughorn's classroom and I set my stuff down, ready to brew whatever potion he had to do. My grade was failing heavily in this class and it all came to the technical work. It frustrated me that Harry never studied but because he had a cheat sheet of a book, he was the highest grade in the class because of it.

"Alright class," Slughorn waved and tried to get our attention, "today I want you to put your skills to the test and attempt to make something amusing and useful without using your books." I glanced over to Harry immediately and saw his panicked face. He couldn't make a simple sleeping draught if someone offered him a million galleons.

I got ingredients from the supply closet and went to the cauldron beside Anastasia. Ever since we talked that day at the lake she seemed to be in a much better mood and was less timid around me.

"Any idea of what you're going to make?" She sparked conversation and started adding her own ingredients in.

"I was thinking a simple Cure for Boils would suffice," I shrugged. It was one of the only potions I knew from the top of my head. I would create vial after vial back in America and sell the potion as acne treatment. Hey, a girl had to make money somehow.

"Any update on your dad?" I asked casually and added my snake fangs. At my sentence, both Draco and Pansy looked straight to me. I sent them a confused look since I had no idea why that would spark their interest.

"Um yeah," Anastasia answered, "he's fully recovered now thanks for asking." I nodded and left my stuff to boil on high and had to grab the slugs from the refrigerated cabinet. Draco went at the same time as me and we had to wait in line beside each other. I had been wanting to speak to him since last year to thank him, but every time he blew me off.

"Draco," I whispered, and I could see his body tense.

"Why do you keep trying to talk to me," he snarled under his breath.

"Because I've been wanting to thank you—"

"Pine," he warned, and his eyes darted across the classroom to see if anyone was listening.

"No really," I looked him square in the eye, "I haven't been able to truly thank you...for what you did last year. And I owe you," I said back.

He finally stopped interrupting me and listened to what I said. His expression was unreadable, but I could see the quick nod of his head, and I got ready to celebrate him finally accepting my thanks but then he turned back to me.

"Just...piss off alright," he said and left everything behind to go back to his seat.

Well that wasn't as long of a conversation as I would have wanted it to be but it was civil for the most part. At least he heard me out and that's all I had wanted.
