A WEEK LATER
TREY
The school gave us today because they wanted to fix up for the ball, which was tomorrow. Khal had been at my throat about it. Anyway, I had Khal to spend the day with me. The time we spent away from each other, I wanted to somewhat regain. It helped that Vanessa and Vaniece went out.
The doorbell rang. Khal got up from our spooning position and went to the door. After the person did some talking, Khal basically slammed the door back in the person's face.
"Drey." She simply said.
"Hey that's my job." I said getting up, referring to her slamming the door.
She chuckled.
"Hurry up and come back I'm gonna be cold," She said.
I just shook my head and opened back the door.
"You guys sure got a habit of slamming doors. Who is that girl?" Drey asked.
"She isn't that girl. She is my girl, which is none of yo' business . Why you here?" I asked, getting straight to the point.
He smiled nervously and looked down. There was Treyan, the little girl I should call sister.
"Um, Treyan here... Tell him Tre," He said, softly nudging her.
"I want to spend time wit' my brodder." She smiled.
I couldn't help but smile. I loved kids and she was adorable. I picked her up.
"Okay. That's cool." I said, taking the bag from Drey.
"Thanks so- Trey, " He said, kissing Treyan before walking away.
I shut the door. Khal looked around. She had never met Treyan.
"Ooohhh, a child." She cooed.
This is where Khal and I were similar. We both have a love for kids.
"Brodder? Who is that?" I smiled at how she said 'brother'.
"That's Khaliana. My wife," I said sitting with her in my lap.
"Your wife? What that?" She asked, scrunching her nose up.
"You will know soon, YaYa," I said using my own nickname for her.
"YaYa really? Trey do better than that! What's yo' name?" Khal asked Treyan.
"Treyan," She replied smiling.
"Can I call you Rey?" Khal asked. I actually liked that.
She nodded her head, smiling hard, going over to Khal.
"What's your name?" She asked.
"Khaliana." Khal said, too fast.
Khal tends to have the moments where she says things too fast. It has been a struggle.
"Lia?" Rey asked scrunching up her eyebrows.
Khal chuckled.
"Sure Rey. You can call me Lia," Khal said, hugging Rey in her arms.
The sight made my young heart flutter. I could tell Khaliana was going to be a loving mother.
"Lia is your sister in law," I said.
