The girl with mismatched eyes POV

It's tonight.
I'm six hours, Illuminae will come and get me.
I will be free.
I will have a family.

But I can't seem to shake the fact that it's not right.
I don't want to leave Kal.

He seemed so sweet last night. It would be wrong to leave him.

But I will.

Lila is currently with Kal, and I'm packing my bags, ready to go.
Night fell awhile ago, and Illuminae will use darkness to help them steal.

Well, not steal. More like taking back what was theirs.

"Uuuugh." I sigh, and flop down on the bed.

"Are you okay, be'shmai?" I hear Kal call from the doorway.

"What the f-" I say, and sit up.
"No, I'm not okay."

He comes and sits down next to me.
"Do you want to tell me?"

I sigh. "I've wanted to leave the Court of Stars for years, and now I've finally found a way to leave. But, now, I'm not so sure that this is the right thing to do."

"Do as your heart says. If it says leave, then leave. If it says stay, then stay."

"My heart says....leave."

He nods his head, and I lean into his shoulder, craving some affection.

I can hear his heart beating fast, and I wonder if I caused that. My eyes widen and with a curse, I remember that elves hate physical contact. Like, hate it.

"Oh, my god I'm so sorry Kal!"

"It's okay, Be'shmai."

After a while I tell him that he should go. I don't tell him the reason why, though. Illuminae will be there in an hour.

He nods his head, and heads out the door, stealing one last glance at me.

And now we wait.

I can hear yelling outside, and I know that Illuminae is here.

"Auri! Let's go!" I hear Scar shout from outside my window.

I grab my bags, and start climbing out, when I see a shadow on my doorway.

Kal.

"Aurora!" I hear him cry, and he grabs onto my arm.

"Let go of me!"

"Aurora, where are you going?"

"I'm leaving. I'm sorry, Kal."

He looks heartbroken, but he won't let me go.

"Kal..." I warn him, my voice dangerously low.

"I'm not letting you leave me."

"Well, your gonna have to. May we meet again, Kal, somewhere fine and far from here."

And before he can process what I'm doing, I use my magic to pry his grasp from my arm, and I slam him into the door.

I drop out of the window, and run.

I hear a shout, and turn around one last time, to look at the burning palace.
There's a figure hanging out the window.

"Jie-Lin I-"

But he gets cut of by one of Fins explosions.

Scar grabs my arm, and we all run far, far away from the palace, and the past.

I was free.

And so another miniseries comes to an end!

I will be doing a part two to this series, and we will continue the story of the boy with secrets and jewels and the girl with mismatched eyes.
