Elise had woken up as they had breakfast and Eddy had insisted to try and deal with her despite her not really settling down. Brett wasn't too sure if that was a good idea, but he couldn't exactly refuse him. He also wasn't too sure if having Leonora over was a good idea after all, but she rang the doorbell at 11am and he went to answer the door.

"Hey," Leonora said as he opeed the door, shifting her weight to her other foot. She still looked a bit worn down from the whole ordeal, and she looked like she had been crying. "Thank you for letting me come see her."

"No, of course. Come in!" he said, moving to the side. She walked in and kicked her shoes off before following Brett to the living room where Eddy had finally gotten Elise to quiet down a bit so that she was just fussing and not crying.

Leonora got tears in her eyes when she saw Elise and held a hand in front of her mouth. Eddy looked up at her quickly before focusing down on Elise again.

"Oh my god she's... Perfect," Leonora whispered, looking like she was about to start bawling, and Brett went to stand by Eddy in the comfy chair. "Oh my god."

"Wanna hold her?" Brett asked with a little smile, and Eddy turned quickly to look at him. Leonora nodded, a tear running down her face, and Brett motioned to her to sit down on the couch before taking the fussing little baby from Eddy's arms and handing her over to Leonora.

Elise became completely quiet as she adjusted to Leonora's arms, and Leonora leaned down to kiss her forehead gently.

"You're perfect, absolutely perfect. God..." Leonora whispered, and Brett sat down next to her with a smile on his lips. It was nice to be able to give the woman who gave birth to their daughter this moment.

"I think she has your eyes," Brett commented, and as if on command, Elise opened her eyes and tried to look around. Leonora let a sob escape seeing it.

"She does," Leonora confirmed, wiping a tear from her own cheek. Her hands were shaking slightly, but she still very gently wiped some drool away from the side of Elise's mouth.

Brett noticed Eddy got up, but assumed it was just to get some of the coffee they had brewed earlier.

"Thank you for letting me have this," Leonora sniffled, turning to Brett and Brett suddenly realized Eddy had left the room. "Thank you for giving her a great, stable home with two parents who love her and can take care of her. That's... All I can wish for her, honestly."

She looked around, trying to find Eddy to thank him too, but didn't see him and didn't want to ask.

"I promise, we'll do our very best for her. Thank you for carrying her and giving birth to her and all that. Thank you."

"It was worth it for this moment, honestly," Leonora said, caressing Elise's cheek again.
