Eddy couldn't help but smile when he stepped out of the car with the little bag he had kept a change of clothes and his toothbrush in the past three days and looked up at their new house. Their new house with two bedrooms and a basement, a newly renovated bathroom and kitchen and a living room with lots of natural light. Their new home.

"It's kinda insane, isn't it?" Brett said, also looking up at the house from the other side of the car. Eddy nodded, studying the steps up to their new front door. How amazing wouldn't it be to get in there and just lay down in their new bed and finally get a full night if sleep?

Coming inside to the sea of cardboard boxes in their living room knocked the air out of Eddy completely. They hadn't even gotten all the furniture yet, but all their stuff still took up so much space.

"Oh man," Brett sighed behind him when he finally peeked around the corner after taking off his shoes and saw the same sea of boxes as Eddy did. "There's so much."

"I can't deal with this right now," Eddy sighed, rubbing his eyes. He felt like crying simply from being so tired, and the unexpected amount of cardboard boxes was simply too much right now. "I'm going to check out our bed."

It was somehow possible to move between the pile of boxes to the door that would be their bedroom door, but opening it to find the bed still covered in plastic and the little bag of legs for it that wasn't put on yet was another hard blow.

"This is kinda nice," Eddy heard behind him and turned to find Brett sitting in their window sill in the living room, having found the plastic bag of towels to put behind his back. "Come sit with me? Or are you going to bed?"

Eddy sighed and went over to his boyfriend, dumping down next to him.
"The bed's not done yet," he sighed, and Brett pulled him closer to rest against his chest. Eddy yawned.

"Well, let's at least sit down for a few minutes before we get started," Brett yawned back at him, running a hand carefully through Eddy's kinda greasy hair. "I don't feel like dealing with this yet either."

"Okay," Eddy sighed, feeling the drowsiness overpower him in the comfort of Brett's arms. "Might just sleep here, actually."

"Yeah, do that. I'm probably gonna too," Brett mumbled, resting his head halways on Eddy's and halfway against the window. "I'm so tired."

"We'll just fix everything when we wake up," Eddy mumbled, half asleep already. He felt Brett gently intertwine their fingers where their hands were resting on Eddy's lower stomach.

"Sounds good," Brett sighed, but Eddy had already drifted off. Light snores filled the house, and Brett couldn't help but smile to himself before he too let himself fall asleep for the first time in their new home.
