Chapter 21

"What threat?!" Eun rim was shocked.
Her sister had been threatened and she was at utter disbelief.
Queen Yoona hands a letter to her.

Dearest Queen Yoona,

Your husband's life is in danger. If you want to save him, tell him to step down from the position of King .
And give it to me.
Once I get the throne, I would still like you to be my first Queen.
I give you a week to convince Hyungsik to give up or else it'll be the end for you .
You'll hear from me often.

She was terrified. Who in the world would want to take over the throne of Silla in this way? What a coward.

"We need to tell his majesty."Queen Yoona said.
Chanyeol nodded.
"We cannot do anything without him."

"No. No way. You cannot get him involved please. Listen. We'll find this person even before a week is over. Okay? Everything will be okay. I don't think we should tell him yet." Eun Rim protested.

Queen Yoona agreed.

Later that day, Chanyeol held a meeting for the knights.

"What?" Taehyung exclaimed after Chanyeol told them the whole situation.
"Yes. The King and Queen ate not safe. We have to do something before we run out of time." Chanyeol said,worried.

"Does anyone have a plan for catching the culprit? " Minho asked.
"I'm not sure...but maybe I can think of something" Sehun said.

All the head turned towards him as he explained his plan.

"So..the culprit said that he would be writing to queen Yoona everyday ,right ? Well how about we keep a strict eye on the Queen's palace from now on and catch the culprit? We can place a soldier to be with the Queen always. The culprit has to show up , right? We can catch him then." He completed.
Most of them seemed pleased with the plan so they decided to act on it.

Chanyeol hoped More than anything that he could catch the culprit as soon as possible.

At night, Eun Rim received a letter from Chanyeol asking her to meet him in the rose gardens after dinner.
So accordingly,Eun Rim dressed up after dinner and secretly went to the gardens.
But he didn't come.
She waited for two hours and he still didn't show up,making Eun Rim upset.

Just when she was about to walk back to her room,she saw Chanyeol come running to her.
"What are you doing out so late?"He huffed.
She scowled.
"I waited two hours for you"she almost yelled out of exhaustion and anger.

"Why?" Chanyeol replied. He wasn't able to understand anything.
He had just got a letter from Eun Rim saying that she would be at the rose garden at this hour for him.

"Didn't you send a letter to me? Asking me to meet you two hours ago?" Eun Rim crossed her arms .
" I didn't. You were the one who sent a letter asking me to meet you right now. I came as fast as I could"he replied.

Then it dawned on them.
They looked at each other , wide-eyed as they heard a scream from a soldier near the Queen's quarters.

Chanyeol and Eun Rim ran towards the Queen's room fast.
On reaching there,they saw an injured soldier being taken to the physician by his fellow soldiers.
Queen Yoona stood at the door,a letter in her hand. Her maids were all crying and shivering. But Yoona looed horrified.

On seeing Chanyeol and Eun Rim,she almost started crying.

"He knew your plan" she whispered to them both.

They then went through the letter .

Dearest Queen Yoona,

Hope you have been well.

I wrote this letter to pass a message to the knights via you.
Let them know that I have my eyes on them and every  try to catch me would fail.
They should give up on their King and accept me instead.

Chanyeol and Eun Rim looked at each other , both scared a lot. They had underestimated the culprit.

No one  was safe now.
