Chapter 6

Chanyeol'S POV

"You're a tad late, aren't you?" Princess Eun Rim asked me as I jogged towards her, panting.

I shook my head,a shy grin forming on my lips.
"I'm so sorry, Princess. The king kept me longer than expected"I said.

She smiled at me.

"It's alright. Let's begin with the tour now,shall we?"she said , standing beside me.

She was wearing a blue hanbok with her hair tied up in a ponytail. She was quite tall for women her age. She almost reached my chin.

"Yes,sure. After you, Princess"I said , gesturing her to lead the way through the palace.

There was no reason for me to want to tour through the palace but if I stayed with the boys, I got very frustrated. They would keep on asking me the reason behind my dislike for Goryeo and I would never have an answer to that.
So going out and touring around the palace could help me clear my head.
I also kept thinking about my mother and I hoped more than anything that I wouldn't have to face her again,even by accident.

"So,this is the first time you've come to Goryeo?" The Princess asked me.

"No,I had come once when I was a kid" I said, looking at the small gardens around the palace.
There were flowers of all kinds growing around small ponds and streams. It looked beautiful.

"Liking it so far?"she asked again, noticing my curious eyes that roamed around the palace.
My instincts told me that the Princess was quite talkative.

"I haven't seen much , Princess. I need to see more but I'm finding this place quite interesting."I replied. "And I am starting to realize that what I remember from my last visit is quite different from what it really is"
She nodded in response.
We walked through a small forest and reached another part of the palace.

"That" Princess Eun Rim said , pointing towards a huge building " is the main palace,the place where the King lives. His two Queens reside in two different palaces that are located at the right and left of the Main palace" She said.

I couldn't help but admire the beautiful buildings in front of me.
They were so sophisticated that they stood out of their surroundings.
I realized that we were quite far from the gate of the main palace, but I could see the guards there.

" Do you think we could enter the palace?" I asked her.
She shook her head." I'm afraid that won't be possible. You see,to enter the palace of the king and the queens,we need to have a Royal permission. That could only be granted by the king or the queens. But don't worry, there is a celebration this evening so obviously you'd be able to see the king's palace soon." She explained.

As she explained,her face started glowing. It was as if she was happy about it. A streak of hair fell in front of her eyes and she immediately pushed it back and then smiled at me.
I smiled back.

I felt happy. I'd be able to see such a wonderful marvel just this evening.

"Come on,let's go. We have to tour through the Crown prince's and Prince Kyungsoo's palace too" she said but as soon as the last word left her mouth I saw her expression changing.

She  frowned,as if she had been forced to eat something that she didn't like.I noticed she was staring at something behind me.
I turned around.

I saw three Royal maids and a head maid coming towards us,with stern expression.

"My greetings to the Princess and her guest"the head maid said, bowing.

Princess Eun did not return the greeting.

"What is it?" The Princess asked, tersely.

" Queen Ji woo has commanded us to get you ready for tonight's celebration. You are requested to come with us"she said.

"Oh,maybe I should get going now. We could complete the tour later Princess"I said as I got ready to bid her goodbye,not wanting to interrupt whatever business the Queen had with the princess.
I almost thought she'd stop me but she just nodded and went with the maids.

Was I disheartened? Maybe a little.

After that I went back to the house that the Knights were supposed to be in and back to frustration.
