Goryeo's Princess || Exo Chanyeol

Chapter 2

Chanyeol's eyes widened and when he opened his mouth to speak,no words came out.
He wasn't able to believe what he just heard.He closed his eyes and tried to calm down.

"Chanyeol hyung? "Taehyung put his hand on chanyeol's shoulder, trying to deacrese the impact of this news on him.

"Hey! You can't be angry now. He's our King and we'll have to listen to him."Minho reasoned out.

Just then ,A palace guard entered the Knights' house.
"All the Knights are being summoned for an urgent meeting with Your Majesty"He announced.

Chanyeol, Baekhyun, Minho and Taehyung looked at each other and without any further questions, made their way to the main palace as fast as they could.

By the time they reached the palace, their fellow Knights,Minseok and Sehun were already there.

King Hyungsik sat on his usual throne,and wore an unreadable expression on his face.

Chanyeol, Baekhyun, Taehyung and Minho bowed and greeted the king. But Chanyeol felt a sudden urge to yell at his friend,but he was the King and Chanyeol's actions might get him into trouble.

"Please,be seated,my knights"King Hyungsik said in his flawless voice.

They all sat,looking at each other.

King Hyungsik cleared his throat.
"As you all might have heard,I am planning to marry Princess Yoona of Goryeo later this month.
"You might be wondering the reason why I haven't approached you people first regarding this sudden action of mine, well I felt that this decision must be made by me. I feel a marriage shouldn't be just for the sake of the kingdom but also for the sake of the King and the bride. They must like each other and not be forced into a wedding. "He sighed.
His eyes shifted from the floor to the faces of his knights who were also his childhood friends.

Minseok managed a small smile, showing his approval of the decision but the rest had frowns.
"I know you feel betrayed. But for once, consider me as a normal person who wants to get married to a girl that caught his eye,rather than a king. You'll know why I didn't involve you in all this"he said,smiling a little.

Sehun broke the awful silence that followed.
".If this makes you happy, your majesty,I support your decision fully"he declared.

Chanyeol glared at him but he just shrugged .

King Hyungsik smiled.

Baekhyun spoke next. "I support your decision fully. Marriage is a personal matter,I wouldn't have involved anyone else either,if I was you"he said.

Minseok patted his back,and smiled at the King.

"I support it " Taehyung declared.

"Me too" Minho joined in.

King Hyungsik felt good. Most of them had decided to support him except HIS best friend,Chanyeol.

The King knew his dislike for the kingdom Goryeo and it's people and the reason being none other than Chanyeol's mother who ran off with another man, but he still hoped he'd accept that King Hyungsik was in love with Princess Yoona from Goryeo.

"Chanyeol?"he called him.
He looked up at him but his expression was full of disappointment.

" I ..um...." Chanyeol stammered.
"Please"the King pleaded.
The King could do anything but he'd never bring a queen to his kingdom without the permission of ALL his knights.

"Okay,I accept it too. If this is what makes you happy,then be it"he said,in a small voice.

King Hyungsik was overwhelmed but he didn't let it show on his face.

"Thank you,everyone. I wouldn't have brought princess Yoona here if you people didn't approve of it"he said, smiling.

"Why wouldn't we approve of it?"Minseok said.

"We respect every decision of yours, your majesty" Taehyung added.

Everyone started chit chatting among themselves. Everyone expect Chanyeol,who was still unsure whether he could serve a Princess of Goryeo as a Queen or not.
