Next day.

Caroline was sitting next to me on the couch. Damon handed her a glass of blood. Apparently she had some news to tell us. 

Damon "Here."

Caroline "I'm still shaking."

She took a sip of the drink  and Stefan walked inside.

Stefan asked confused " What happened?"

Damon looked at Caroline "Go ahead, tell him."

Then he looked at his brother with a fake smiled " You're gonna love this."

Caroline took a deep breath " I saw Katherine today."

Stefan's eyes went wide " Where?"

Caroline "At the Grill. I just stopped by to gawk and...quasi-stalk Matt."

I looked at her "i told her to stay away from you"

Damon said annoyed  "didn't work, obviously"

I glared at him "Because someone had to kill her toy "

Damon "you were gonna kill him anyway"

Me "but in my own way!"

Stefan raised his voice  "knock it off! What did she want?"

Caroline "she's got a message for you"

Stefan "what message?"

Caroline took a deep breath ""Tell Damon and Stefan that I want the moonstone or I will rip this town apart until it rains blood.""

Damon " Tell him the rest of it."

Caroline " Tonight, at the masquerade ball."

Stefan shook his head "She wants to do it in public. Killing Mason threw her off guard."

Damon " She's running scared. What she did to Jenna was desperate. She's out of tricks."

I shook my head unimpressed by my sister "i wouldn't underestimate her. "

Stefan " We have to play this smarter than her."

Caroline sighed "Can we just give her the moonstone so she'll leave?"

Damon shook his head  " No, Katherine's not getting dick. I've had it. I'm gonna go to the masquerade ball and I'm gonna kill her, tonight."

Stefan shook his head " You're not gonna kill her."

Damon shook his head pissed off " Don't give me that goody-goody crap."

Stefan shook his head "You're not gonna kill her."

I raised an eyebrow.

Damon challenged "Really?"

Stefan nodded "Because I am."
