March 29. 1956

1 hour later...

Jackie sat in an armchair in the living room, stiffly. Nobody else there but her.

Her back was straight her neck was tall and there was no emotion on her face.

Her hands clenched the sides of the armchair though, so much that her knuckles turned white and stayed the color, her wedding ring looking like it would pop off.

She stared at the wall in front of her, her fists still clenched tightly.

The doorbell rang but Jackie stayed where she was.

The doorbell rang again and Jackie stayed where she was.

It rang again and Jackie sighed, took a deep breath and stood up before she walked slowly and stiffly toward the door.

She opened it.

And saw her sister in law Eunice Kennedy.
