"I promise I would never do anything like that!" I whispered, clenching my fists so tight my knuckles turned white.

"I don't believe you!" Charlie said, looking back at Mitch and grabbing his top so he couldn't run. "Why would my girlfriend ask someone like you to kiss her??!!" Charlie said staring intensely at Mitch. I sighed a sigh of relief and relaxed. Charlie pushed Mitch away making him trip and fall backwards. I giggled as Charlie kissed my hand and said... "My lady, I do hope you'll forgive me for my behaviour?"

"I don't know, I'll have to think about it" I replied. I laughed as he picked me up and kissed me. He put me down slowly, looking straight into my eyes.

"Now you promise me something. Don't call, text or talk to Mitch, okay?"

"I promise!" I said smiling

That day I stayed around Charlie just in case Mitch harassed me. He didn't even look at me. When I was walking home my phone kept ringing and getting text messages from Mitch, but I left it.

The second I shut the front door of my house I immediately checked my phone. I put my bag down next to the coat stand and walked to the kitchen, still staring at my phone.

24 texts and 7 missed calls. I flipped my phone down and slammed it on the kitchen bench. I had the urge to call Mitch but I remembered what Charlie had said, and now that he'd forgiven me, I was going to be a better girlfriend. I picked my phone back up and dialled Charlie's number. I talked to him for about 2 hours about how many texts and calls I was getting from Mitch. Once we said goodbye and hung up I felt much better. It was a weight off my shoulders and me and Charlie had agreed to talk to Mitch tomorrow at school.

The next day, at school, I met Charlie in the year 10 corridor. Then we made our way to the year 11 corridor, where Mitch was.

"Mitch!" I shouted. He turned around and smiled when he saw my face but when he saw Charlie next to me he frowned.

"What'd you want?" He asked with an annoyed tone in his voice.

"We just want to talk about you texting and ringing my girlfriend!" Charlie said aggressively. Mitch looked at me with a pleading look on his face. I looked down at my feet.

"Go on Millie, say what you were going to say." Charlie whispered in my ear.

"Well," I began, looking up at Mitch. "I would like you to stop texting and ringing me because I'm seeing someone Else AND I DONT LIKE YOU ANY MORE!!! GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK HEAD!!!" I ended up yelling at him and everyone went quiet. They stopped and looked at me. I blushed and walked away from Mitch and Charlie.

When I saw Charlie at recess, he was really quiet.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing. Much." He replied.

"Charlie, there is definitely something wrong."

"I said there was nothing wrong! Can you just drop it!"

I shut up and stared at him in shock. "I'm sorry I asked! I was just wondering what the hell was wrong with my boyfriend!"

We both went silent. I sat there. He sat next to me. I shuffled closer and leaned in to kiss him on the cheek. He turned around and kissed me on the lips instead.

"I'm sorry, it's just..." He trailed off and pulled up his shirt. I gasped. He had a big bruise on his chest.

"Okay, I hope you don't mind me asking, but what happened?"

"Well, your ex-boyfriend has a pretty good punch!" He winced as I touched his bruise.

"We should put some ice on it!" I said.

"Nah, I should be okay because you, take the pain away." I looked into his eyes and smiled. His blue eyes twinkling.
