"Elizabeth Dark pov"

My name is Elizabeth Dark, well it used to be, but not anymore, and this is the story of my destiny.

My father was desmond Dark and my mother was Mary Dark, two of the kindest people around or so I'm told. The truth is my mother died in childbirth and my father remarried, but he also passed away. Before he died he always told me of how much I looked like my mother, with my amber eyes and my hair as black as coal, my stepmother hated me for that, her and my two stepsisters, they always acted kind to me but it was just that, a act. When my father died in a car crash when I was five my stepmother got my family's fortune, and treated me like I was a cancer upon them, they beat me, abused me and starved me, but I still survived.

My stepsisters, Asuna and Kate, were nothing more then pretty pretty airheads, while I was studying in school they were getting fucked in the restroom of the nearest bar. Asuna was 18 while Kate was 17 like me, every day while I would be doing homework they came home smelling like cheap beer, cigarettes and cum. I always looked at them with disgust. My stepmother Alexa saw them as angels but she would, given she was hammered half the time.

This was my life to put it simply it was hell, and I thought about ending it, but every time I was ready to die I heard a woman's soft angelic voice in my head, she always said the same thing, "stop little one, he is coming, and he will save you."

Odd as it sounds I felt like the voice was right, and I felt like I was destined for greatness, and I was.

I first met him when I came home from school one day, I was surprised to find both my stepsisters home already along with Alexa in the living room, along with a man around my age.

I remember thinking how handsome he was, he had (h/c) shoulder length hair, beautiful (e/c) eyes and a short beard with a everlasting smirk on his face. I must have been staring to long because Asuna started to get jealous.

"Why are you staring at my boyfriend? Wait are you attracted to him?" Asuna questioned with a smirk.

"What? No, I was just wondering who he is," I stated in a nervous voice.

I then heard a small laugh and I turned to see the man standing up, his full height was slightly taller then me and the sound of his laugh sent shivers down my spine, very pleasurable shivers.

"I'm Gabriel, Gabriel Knight, I'm a hunter in training." He finished before extending his hand.

After all the abuse I suffered from my step-family I couldn't help but flinch when he extended his hand, something he took note of, after I flinched he approached slower and I softly shook his hand.

"Aww Elizabeth has a crush on Gabriel." Kate teased as she subtly leered at Gabriel.

"Well for her sake I hope she remembers who Gabriel belongs to," Asuna stated before walking up to me and slapping me with the back of her hand, sending me to the floor.

Just as I felt the tears in my eyes I sensed someone beside me and I looked up to see those beautiful angelic (e/c) eyes of Gabriel as he offered to help me up.

"Gabriel why are you helping her?" Asuna asked with venom in her voice.

Gabriel turned to Asuna with a harded look in his eyes. "I'm a huntsman and that means I help everyone." He finished in a commanding tone.

Everyone seemed to shrink under Gabriel's gaze until Asuna did the last thing I expected her to do, she apologised.

"I'm sorry Elizabeth, I just got jealous, after all Gabriel is the best thing that ever happened to me" Asuna finished sounding like a lovesick schoolgirl.
