When we landed on Philippine soil, I went directly towards her, and saying she was not happy to see me was to say the least.

"Putangina, buhay ka pa pala?"

Oh, how I missed this woman.

She looked different with her red hair. Different but still achingly gorgeous, it only reflected her fiery personality.

"I need you to come with me—"

"Gago nawala ka ng ilang buwan and you expect me to follow you?"

I almost laughed at her answer. This woman never backs down. It's fucking infuriating, and I love that about her, but this isn't the time for it.

Kuji Shio was spotted around the area by a CCTV camera. He went inside one of the hotels, but he disappeared right after. There is no footage of him leaving from any angle. We're unsure if he's planning something and when it will happen.

Scarlet left, and I let her... but that doesn't mean I wouldn't follow her like a dog missing its owner.

While waiting for her to come down from her building, I went around the campus to check the agents assigned to my siblings. I've also alerted the campus police to secure the safety of the students, so if worse comes to worst, they're escorted safely outside the premises.

[TJ, may umatake kay Christian at sa guard ng building. Maraming lalake, hindi ko alam kung Itasaki o iba.]

"Go to a crowded area, baby. I'm going to you." Her words made me spring up into a run back to her building, while alerting other agents in the area that was with Cici and Ace. "Bring my siblings back to the house. Stat."

As I track Hope down, I couldn't help but curse from annoyance. I was livid, mostly with Itasaki, but partly with myself for leaving. I shouldn't have entertained her stubbornness and forced her to stay at home or Ces Vallis instead. I shouldn't have left her building. I should have put more agents around her.

I was right to assume war is waiting for us back here.

But I would fight in any war to ensure her safety. I battle three men in a wrecked church after eliminating a lot of them outside—fucking pigs that dare touch her.

My body was getting tired from the long fight, numerous injuries enveloping my body, and we just arrived from Taiwan doing the same thing—but that didn't stop me from throwing a block of cement at one, punching the other, and throwing a knife to the fucker on top of her.

What surprised me was the third, when he stood up and pushed, slamming my body into the gaping hole with momentum. I quickly grabbed him and spun around to reverse our position in the air, using the guy's body as my safety net.

We fell with a loud bang while I heard Scarlet calling my name. "James! No!"

I heard a pop in my body, and I groaned in pain, feeling discomfort in my arms and shoulders, but I was lucky enough because the man I used died on impact from his head slamming the floor. Sucks for him.

"Ah!" I hear Scarlet scream, and I run up the stairs, ignoring every bit of ache my body is feeling.

As I ran up towards the top, I couldn't help but think, I shouldn't have followed her wishes to be left alone. I don't care if she loathes me by the end of it. As long as she's safe.

Fuck me for thinking Itasaki wouldn't hurt her because she's royalty. "Hope!"

One of the men descended the stairs to meet me in the middle. Raising his leg to kick, I grabbed it and pulled it towards me, making his body slide down the stairs. He held out a knife while doing so, aiming it at my leg, and I quickly pulled away, but I felt the sting. He stood up, making frantic slashes as I descended the stairs to avoid him.
