Summary: Y/N is nervous to come out to their family and Elle finds out they are nervous, she sits the teen down and talks with them.

Third person pov...

Elle Greenaway had seen a lot in her time in the BAU , but nothing had ever moved her as much as the amount of anxiety that is on Y/Ns face, in the last hour since the teen arrived they have paced the entire bullpen around 5 times.

She had noticed the teen was nervous the minute they walked in and she knew better than to pry and instead let them tell her at their own pace, the teen was practically peels the skin off the finger as the paced.

Elle watched from her desk, the files on her desk forgotten once she noticed the youngest person in the room was almost having a panic attack.

14 year old Y/N L/N had known for a while now that they weren't like most of their classmates. Every day seemed to be a balancing act, trying to make sure no one noticed the differences, the similarities, about them. They tried their best to keep it hidden, but the longer they tried, they more they felt like they were going to burst.

Now they were a scared but determined bundle of nerves. After doing a lot of soul searching, Y/N had come to one daunting conclusion - they were Bi-Sexual and Genderqueer. It had taken them months to realise and accept these truths. But now that they did, it was time to muster up the courage to tell their family and the BAU team.

After another horrible 15 minutes, She invited Y/N to sit down and talk in the comfort of a spare office that wasn't in use, once they were sat down opposite each other "what's wrong Y/N you've been anxious all morning?" questions Elle, the teen looks on the verge of tears as they look at Elle.

Elle leant forward and took their shaking hands in hers, she reassured the teen and told them 'It's ok, you can trust me'.

The teen nervously shifted in their seat took and deep breathe; Y/N then started to explain how coming out to their family was a nerve wracking experience that they wasn't sure how to tackle. Elle listened patiently and offered words of encouragement and support. She asked Y/N what their orientation was, and that's when they finally opened up and told her they were Bi-Sexual and Genderqueer.

Elle's reaction was that of love and acceptance. She hugged the teen close and assured them that it was okay to be whoever they wanted to be. From that day forward, Y/N felt more courageous and confident to come out to their family and the BAU team.

"thanks elle" they say to the woman infront of them

"0of course Y/N"

"do you want to tell the team before your family" she asks the teen, Y/N fiddles with their hand before nodding. "I do will you be with me?" they ask quietly. Elle smiles gently and lifts the teen head. "of course I will be Y/N, I wouldn't leave you to do it yourself" she says making the teen laugh.

Elle was determined to help Y/N, Elle knew that this could be a difficult conversation, and she wanted to make sure the teen felt safe and supported, so she first gathered the team at the round table, she had left the teen to get ready to tell the rest of the team later they would tell their parents.

Once all the members were sat down. "What's going in Elle?" Asks Gideon everyone was thinking the same thing. "Y/N has something to tell you all" she says, the wan then stands to the side.

Y/N was shaking when they finally worked up the courage to approach the team. They had no idea how the team would react, but they were determined to share their truth.

But before they could get a word out, Agent Elle Greenaway stepped forward. She put a hand on their arm for comfort, She looked at them with a comforting and understanding expression, and said, 'It's ok, Y/N We're here for you.'

Y/N felt an immediate wave of relief wash over them. With Elle's help, they were finally able to share their truth. The team listened attentively and accepted Riley for who they were.

The young teen was incredibly grateful for Elle's help in coming out. They knew that they could always count on the BAU team, and Elle had proven that the team was always there to support them.

A few days later with Elle's help, the teenager mustered up the courage to come out to their parents. Though it was a difficult conversation, their parents were supportive and proud of him. The teenager was relieved to be able to express themself freely and without fear.
