Like a flower
Opening up petals
Letting my seeds see the world
A flower open
Is vulnerable
Letting bugs wind everything inside
Petals fall
A flower in bloom
Is open to spreading across the world
A flower in bloom is in danger too
When my flower blooms
When I open to the world
It's cruel
Unforgiving
It steals my seeds
Before they get a chance to grow
They never had a chance
A plant indoors is victim to the house cat
Petals eaten
Knocked over
Unwatered
When my petals open up
And I'm met with a world
Cold and dangerous
When my seeds are stolen
When I'm open
Vulnerable
Attacked
A flower never gets a chance
To spread
To grow
To outlast its own life
I'm a flower
Doomed by nature to fail
