"You know Lorelai, if you keep undressing me with your eyes, I'm going to catch a cold" Alma said, flipping the page in her book "What are you daydreaming about?"

"Well" Lorelai replied, walking over and seating herself in Alma's lap "This"

She leant down and kissed Alma's neck, her hand on the Ymbryne's waist. Alma leant up in order to grant her greater access, letting out a small noise that could send Lorelai feral. The parlour door was open, but neither of them cared. Lorelai's hands were dancing around the buttons on the Ymbryne's jacket.

"If God IS real, I'm so fucked" She laughed.

"You don't need God for that darling"

Lorelai twisted slightly and was given a not so gentle reminder  that she was, in fact, severely injured. She would have happily ignored the pain in her ribs and carried on, but Alma heard the small groan and pulled herself back. Lorelai tried to follow her, but a hand on her shoulder pushed her away.

"No, Lorelai, you're too hurt for this" She was met by Lorelai pouting, causing her to laugh in a way that made not touching her so much harder. "All right, I'll make you a deal. Once you're better I'll..."

She leant up and whispered into Lorelai's ear, causing her mouth to fall open and a look of disbelief to enter her eyes.

"Deal"

Despite Alma's insistence that she was fine to cook alone, Lorelai insisted on helping her or, more realistically, standing behind her with her arms wrapped around her waist, planting kisses on her cheek and neck.

"How does this taste?" Alma asked, lifting a wooden spoon filled with sauce to Lorelai, who was leant over her shoulder.

She took a sip and, rather dramatically, rolled her eyes to the back of her head.

"That good huh?"

"Heavenly my dear"

"Just like you, my love"

Lorelai scoffed and rolled her eyes for real "Barely" Alma returned to her cooking, Lorelai continuing to hold her by the waist.

"Why are you so clingy today?" Alma asked "It's not as though I'm complaining, it's just not like you"

"Can we talk about this tonight maybe?"

"Alright" Alma said, leaning back against the headboard and pulling Lorelai into her chest "Out with it, what's the matter?"

Lorelai didn't reply instantly, rather, she took a moment, fiddling with the lace lining the neck of Alma's nightgown. "It's just, when whatever happened was going on, I thought you hated me, and it was the worst feeling in the world. I love you so much and the thought of anything happening to us, to you, it's..."

She couldn't think of the right word. She didn't need to. Alma understood. She leant down and kissed Lorelai on the forehead, arms naturally clutching a little tighter.

"Nothing is going to happen, love, and I will never hate you"
