HAWKINS BLEEDING! CHAPTER THIRTY:
THE HOSPITAL
They got back to Mikes house El was looking for Hopper. They needed him now more than ever, they couldn't fight this alone. Stephenie sat next to El on the couch watching as Els facial expressions changed. "I see him" El stated
"Where is he?" Stephenie asked
"Forest... He's with Wills mom" El said
"My mom?" Will asked leaning forward
"They are going to...il-a-noy" El said
"Mike breakfast!" Mikes mom yelled from upstairs
"Not now mom!" Mike yelled back turning to El"
"Illinois? Like the state of Illinois?"
"il-a-noy" El shrugged
Max grabbed El and Stephenie and took them to the bathroom. Max wet a cloth and wiped Els nose and Stephenie looked in the mirror touching the bruise Billy gave her.
"Does it still hurt?"
"Only when I talk"
"Well it's a good thing your not Mike, blah blah blah blah... you'd be in constant pain" Max said making Stephenie and El laugh.
"Hey, uh you have powers like El now?"
"Yeah I guess, I don't really know how I got them." Stephenie chucked a bit
"You seem tense Steph, is everything okay?" Max asked
"Things from my vision keep happening, the brick wall, the red door, being chocked, a pole. What if the visions somehow gave me powers"
"I don't know that's really weird, but cool at the same time"
"That's your main concern?" They heard Will ask in a whispered tone
"It's not a main concern, it's just a sub concern" Mike
"She said she dumped your ass! That doesn't sound like a break"
"It wasn't!" Max yelled
"you guys do realize we can hear everything your saying, Right?" Stephenie yelled weakly and than the boys went silent— Stephenie, El and Max all looked at each other and laughed.
Nancy and Jonathan had came to the basement when the girls came out of the bathroom. Stephenie laid on the couch against Will while Nancy explained something that happened last night at the hospital.
"It was the exact same thing that happened to Will last year! and look at the body temperatures" Nancy explained as Stephenie looked at the papers over Wills shoulder
"He likes it cold" Will stated
"Okay, so this crazy old lady that was eating fertilizer—"
"Mrs Driscoll" Nancy corrected
"Yeah Mrs Driscoll."
"What time was this attack?" Stephenie asked
"Last night" Nancy told them
"Right, but what time last night"
"Around 9"
"You waited all night to call?" Jonathan turned to Nancy is disbelief
"I was waiting for the doctors to run some tests" she answered
"You weren't there?" Will asked
"Well I'm here now, aren't I?"
"hallelujah" Nancy Scoffed, Stephenie looked up at Will— they really fought like a married couple sometimes
"Uh... what time was your sauna test?"
