Chapter 41

Veronica's POV....

Kaitlyn and I was chatting, until someone knocked my door.

"Come in!" I said. It was Jackson.

"Hey uncle Jackson!" Kaitlyn greeted.

"Hey kid. Mind if I speak to your friend in private?" He asked. Kaitlyn looked confused but agreed anyways. I already knew what it was he wanted to talk about.

"Sure. I'll go get some... uh.." She started a bit comfused, but I continued the the sentence.

"Chips and dip." I said.

"Yah!" She said before getting up and leaving. After she left Jackson looked at me. I stood up so I can talk more comfortably with him.

"Did you say anything to her?" He asked.

"No." I said folding my arms.

"To anyone?" He asked.

"I'm not stupid. Besides, Ava is the first one that needs to know." I said.

"About that... I don't know if we should." Jackson said.

"What exactly do you mean?" I asked.

"I mean we don't say anything to anyone. We just pretend it never happened." He said.

"Are you out of your mind?! How can we even do that?! I can't lie to her or any of the girls!" I said.

"How can I say to my daughter that her best friend and I made out while drunk?!" He asked.

"Woah, we aren't best friends and secondly you're the one who kissed me, are you forgetting?!" I said.

"Keep your voice down! I'm trying to figure out what to do here!" Jackson said.

"How about the right...thing." My voice dropped and breath stopped when my eyes fell on Kaitlyn who was standing by the door frame holding a bowl of chips and a smaller bowl with the dip.

"Kaitlyn..." I said. Jackson was also looking more nervous as he closed his eyes shut before looking at me and then back at Kaitlyn.

I guess this is the part where Ava hates me for her entire life.

"What the hell?!" Was all she said. She dropped the bowl on the small table next door where we kept our books, some chips fell out the bowl and dip emptied into the whole bowl.

"Kaitlyn, I... we.." I started but didn't know what words to come after.

"We can explain." Jackson said. Kaitlyn quickly closed the door shut before turning back to us.

"Then explain! Explain this bullshit I'm hearing! When did this happen?! How did it?!" She asked walking up closer to us.

"Last night. When I found out about Jayden, what my family did to his mother, I started drinking a lot and I came back here but none of you all were home and I was drunk. Jack- Mr Benson was also drinking, when... it.... happened." I said as both Jackson and I made a quick eye contact, then looked back at Kaitlyn who couldn't or didn't know what to say.

"Is this what... they.. it... had on you?" She asked.

"Yes." I said.

"What are you talking about?" Jackson asked.

"Nothing. Look... we're trying to figure out, how we're going to tell this to Ava." I said.

"What?! Are you insane?! You can't tell Ava this!" Kaitlyn said.

"Kaitlyn!" I said.

"See I told you, we can't." Jackson said.

"How- I can't keep this from her!" I said.

"At least try." Kaitlyn said and I looked at her. Her phone then rang.

"Its my dad, excuse me." Kaitlyn said. I then looked at Mr Benson who looked back at me.

We were all sitting in the living room, I sat on one side of the sofa and Kaitlyn laid her head on my lap while on her phone. Selena was reading on the floor, her back leaning against the other side of the sofa and Ava was watching television, sitting on the end of the sofa.  Ava's dad had gone out to meet up with his lawyers.

I was also reading a new novel. The place was awkwardly silent, only the television on.

"Alright! I can't take this anymore!" Kaitlyn said resting down her phone.

"What's wrong?" Selena asked.

"Are we really gonna spend our Saturday like this?" I asked.

"Well what do you wanna do?" I asked.

"I don't know, maybe bake some pastries and watch scary movies, maybe a few games?" She asked.

"Hmmm... alright." I said looking at the others who all seems to agree.

As we were preparing the things to bake I got a text message.

Evelyn:
Hey. What are you and your friends doing tonight?

Me:
Hey. Nothing really, gonna bake some pastries haha...

Evelyn:
Oh nice. How about a party instead?

Me:
Party?

Evelyn:
At my place. Just me and few friends hanging out. So how about you guys come?

Me:
I'll ask the girls.

Eveyln:
Okay.

"Hey guys! Do you all wanna go a party tonight?" I asked them.

"Whose party?" I asked.

"My friend Evelyn is having this party. What do you'll say?" I asked.

"Sure!" They agreed.

"Well its better than getting my hands dirty." Ava said and we smiled.

"Ha ha." Kaitlyn said.

Me:
Hey. They agreed.

Eveyln:
Great! I'll send you the address.

Me:
Alright.. see you♡

Eveyln:
See you♡

"Alright. Lets get ready!" I said. After getting ready, we all took my car to leave. I drive, Kaitlyn was in the front with me, Selena behind her and Ava behind me.

"You girls really look smokin!" Kaitlyn hyped us as we all laugh. I started the car and pulled off.

"Music?" I asked.

"Duh!" Selena and Kaitlyn said and I laughed.

Kaitlyn put on the music and started singing.

"Oh oh woah! I know you love me, I know you care, just shout whenever and I'll be there!" She started singing so loud making us laugh.

"Save it for the party!" Selena said.

"Maybe they won't play these old classics." Kaitlyn said.

"Maybe true." I said.

"These songs aren't even that old." Ava said.

"Baby baby oh! Baby baby baby! No! Mine! Oh!" Kaitlyn continues singing causing us to laugh.

"Oh my God! Katie!" I said trying to focus on driving.

"Going down down down!" She sang in a funny tone which made me had to slow down the car to have a proper laugh.

"The rap part. Take it away, Ronnie!" Selena said.

"You can rap?" Kaitlyn asked shocked and Ava also looked at me raising her eyebrows.

"When I was thirteen..." I started rapping, both Selena and Kaitlyn were hyping me up as I sped up a little.
