PRESENT TIME...
Veronica's POV...
After eating, we were about to leave the mall when I got a text message. Kaitlyn went to the washroom.
Had fun shopping? You're not finish shopping yet. Follow my orders or someone dies!

My eyes widen as I read it. What exactly do they want me to do.
"Miss, this is for you." One of the waitress said handing me a note.
"Who sent it?" I asked.
"They said they're a friend of yours. Someone with the nickname blacked masked or something." She said.
"Did you see their face?" I asked.
"No sorry. They were wearing a hoodie and black masked." She said before leaving. I then read the note.
Tell Kaitlyn who you are, tell her about your family background.

What?! Why should I tell it to her? It's not gonna make any difference. Then I remembered the rumors of my father being a criminal and the things my grandparents did. Its not my fault I'm related to them.
"Hey!" Kaitlyn said making me jump.
"Oh!" I said.
"Are you okay?" She asked and I nodded.
"I have something I need to tell you, about my identity and family history." I said.
"Why would I need to know that?" She asked as we took our bags and things before walking out.
"Just, so we can know more about each other, since we'll be staying together." I said.
"Okay so what do you want to tell me?" She asked.
"I want to say that my name, full name is Veronica Johnson. My parents, Aria and Brandon Johnson." I said as we walk out to our car in the parking lot. She stopped on her tracks and looked at me shocked.
"What?!" She asked.
"What?" I asked.
"You're the daughter of Brandon Johnson?" She asked shocked.
"Yes. He died when I was very young." I said.
"The Johnson's family is... that can't be true." She said and now I looked at her confused.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"The Johnson's family is the most dangerous business company." She said hesitating.
"Dangerous? We're talking about my family here!" I said.
"Precisely! Your family had caused a lot of hurt and pain, they destroyed so many families and hurt a lot of people!" She said.
"Whatever my family did is now in the past..." I said.
"Oh yeah? Tell it to Ava." Kaitlyn said.
"What?" I asked again confused.
"Oh crap! If you're Selena's cousin... shit this mean that Ava have no idea who her best friend is." Kaitlyn said looking up at the sky before looking at me.
"Excuse me?" I asked.
"Yours and Selena's family, the Johnson's destroyed her life and her family. Her father is in jail because of them!" Kaitlyn said.
"What?!" I asked.
"Ava and her father, the Benson family was one of top five biggest companies in this state! Because of your family, they lost everything! All their money, her father is in prison, her grandmother is in a mental institution. Your father caused all that! Brandon Johnson is a monster!" She said and I felt tears roll off my eyes.
"Oh my God! I..." I didn't even know what to say. I dropped everything, all my bags on the ground and quickly walked out the parking lot.
"Veronica! Ronnie! Where are you going?!" I heard Kaitlyn calling after me. I just continued walking. How much pain did my family caused to others?! And why do I have to face the after effects of it?! I then got another message.
It hurtful and confusing to know how the people you love can do something so drastic right?

"Go to hell!" I screamed at the phone before quickly running. I don't know where I'm running to. I kept running until I fell. I sit curled up on a bench nearby and cried as I remembered.
Flashback...
Me, my mother and father was in the garden, sitting on the blanket. My mom was reading a book while me and my dad was trying to fly my new kite. I was about six years old.
"Alright! Come here both of you! Let's eat an sandwich!" My mother called.
"Mom! Five more minutes please!" I said.
"Veronica! I said now! You'll fly after you've eaten." She yelled and I pouted.
"Ronnie lets go. Your mom will be upset and I'll be sad if she is." My dad said.
"Okay dad." I said sighing. We both then went and sat down as my mom took out the sandwiches and drinks.
"Sanitize your hands." She said. We all sanitize our hands before eating.
"After eating, I'll show you both how a true kite flying champion looks like." My mom said.
"Ha! You're so funny." My dad said and we all laughed. After eating we cleaned up and then my mom whispered something to my dad and he smiled nodding.
"Ronnie? Come over baby." My mom called and I walked over.
"Yes?" I asked confuse. Both my mom and dad looked at each other.
"Tickle monster!" He said and my mom grabbed me as I tried running away. I was tickled so much I almost peed.. then my dad kissed my forehead, then my mom's.
"You two are my favorite girls in this whole world!" He said hugging us both.
End Of Flashback....
"Dad! I don't believe what those people, you are not a monster like they said you are." I said crying.
"Hey!" I heard a familiar voice. I turn to my side quickly drying my tears before turning around to see Evelyn sitting next to me.
"Hey.." I said.
"Why are you crying?" She asked.
"Hidden secrets can really hurt! I hate them!" I said before she hugged me and I cried onto her shoulders.

I then told Evelyn everything. My identity and everything I was told.
"I'm sorry Veronica." She said.
"I wish, there is something I can do." I said.
"Maybe you can visit her father and grandmother." She said.
"Wouldn't she feel upset? I haven't told her anything and I'm guessing neither did Selena." I said.
"She doesn't have to know anything yet. Try to make it up to her first." Evelyn said and I smiled.
"I'm not sure." I said.
"Let Kaitlyn go with you, since she has more knowledge of their family and I can always come along." She said.
"That does sound good. Thank you." I said and she smiled.
