they all come in. charli hands me carson and jordan.
you: this is carson and this is jordan. these are your bestfriends. bryce. addison. jaden. blake. mads. and charli. josh: hi? bryce: wait- you: he can't remember anything at the moment bryce: i'm bryce hall. your best friend since we were five jaden: i'm jaden hossler. we met in the fourth grade when some kids were picking on me and you made them go away. addison: i'm addison rae. in 9th grade i ate lunch by myself. you came and sat with me and made all your friends come too. charli: i'm charli damelio. our moms were bestfriends as kids so we became friends. blake: i'm blake gray. we met a few years ago when i moved into sway. it's a house where you film fun videos with your friends. mads: i'm mads lewis. we met through jaden and instantly became close. you: i'm nessa barrett. i moved to LA and had no friends. you texted me saying i was cute but i turned you down. later that day we met through mads.
he smiles a little bit at all of the stories. i hand him jordan and he holds him.
jordan: daddy
josh looks at me and i nod. then we switch and carson lays on his chest. we all try to talk to him for a bit. visiting hours are over so everyone leaves. except me. i sit by his side.
josh: what am i like? you: well for starters your extremely handsome. your sweet and funny and obnoxious. you can brighten someone's day with just your smile. josh: where am i from and where do i live? who am i? you: your from toronto canada. you moved to LA when you were 16 to live with your friends for that video app called tiktok. we dated when we were 17. i filmed a movie and we broke up. we got back together and you proposed. i told you i was pregnant. we moved to toronto so your family could help us. we live right down the street from them. we live in this nice big house with our kids. you play on a national hockey team. the senators. we have been traveling for a few months. last night you had your game to determine if you would be in the playoffs. you shot the winning goal but then you were slammed into the side and hit your head on the ice. you have a severe concussion.
i rub my hand over his forehead pushing his hair out of his face.
josh: so i love you right? you: y- ya. and i love you josh: good because your beautiful
i smile. he moves over and mats the bed for me to lay down. i do and i lay my head on his chest gently. i whisper so i don't hurt his head.
you: how does your head feel? josh: eh. hurts
i sigh.
josh: well i guess i should still kiss my wife goodnight
i smile up at him and gently press our lips together.
josh: night you: goodnight josh.
we fall asleep but wake up at 4 AM so he can take pain killers. then he can't fall back asleep.
