I've been in the safe camp for Maze survivors for a few weeks now. I've seen kids come and go, but it never bothered me that my name wasn't being called and I wasn't leaving. If I'm being honest, I always had a pit in my stomach whenever they took the kids.

I sighed when a guard the girls nicknamed, Hunk (even though his name was Hank), came over and knelt down so we were eye-level. He sent the girls at my table his "everything is okay" smile, before turning his attention to me.

"Miss Y/N? Would you mind coming with me for a few minutes?"

"Why?" I asked, ignoring all the giggling going on behind me.

"We just need to run a few more tests. Nothing too serious," he said, trying to reassure me.

I sighed as I stood up and followed him. After an hour of being pricked and drained, Hank escorted me back to the girls' bunks.

The week went on like that. Every morning Hank would come and get me, making up some excuse like they needed more blood. It got to the point where as soon as I finished breakfast, I kept my eyes on the door and waited for Hank to come get me.

At the end of the week, it was Janson who came to escort me back. I started to get nervous when I noticed we weren't heading to the infirmary.

"Where are you taking me?"

"Just to a separate bunk," he smiled sweetly at me.

My mind searched for a reasonable explanation but I came up with nothing. I got even more nervous when we turned down a hallway that looked deserted.

"Where are we?" I asked, hesitantly.

"In another hall of bunks," Janson explained, not looking at me as he walked forward.

"Why is it. . . Empty?" I looked through the windows to see only empty rooms.

"We haven't filled this hall yet. We haven't needed to." His voice sent shivers up and down my spine.

"Then why are you taking me here?" I asked more to myself than to him.

He opened the door to a room at the end of the hall. There was only one bed against the wall, a desk with a mirror hanging above it, and a small curtain in the corner separating the bathroom from everything else. He gestured inside the room, waiting for me as I hesitated.

The second I walked into the room, I noticed how cold it was. I wrapped my arms around myself as I turned to face him.

"What am I doing here?" I asked, trying to make my voice sound stronger.

"Don't worry, Y/N." He smiled sweetly at me as he slowly started closing the door. "We wanted to separate you from everyone else because we noticed something about your blood."

"My blood?"

"And besides," he chuckled, his smirk turning evil as he had the door basically shut.

"We can't risk him seeing you."

Thomas's POV

I glanced around the room at all the kids, happily talking as they ate. Suddenly, that guy Janson walked by with a guard and a young girl. For some reason, I couldn't tare my eyes away from the girl.

"Thomas?" Newt asked to get my attention. "You okay?"

"Yeah," I said slowly, still not looking away from the girl. "It's just. . . I think I know her."
