Stiles' POV

"Where is she Scott? Where the hell is she?"

"I. . . I don't know, Stiles." Scott stuttered, running his hands through his hair. "I can't get her scent."

"Wait, what? How. . . How do you not have her scent? I gave you her jacket. You should. . . Why don't. . ." I could feel a panic attack coming on.

Scott grabbed my shoulders, forcing me to look up from the ground. "We are going to find her, I promise. Nothing is going to happen to her."

My voice came out small and cracked. "I'm not like you. I can't. . . I can't do the things that you can do. I can't protect her. What if something does happen to her?" "

"Then we'll do something," he said, sending me a knowing look. "I'll do something. And we'll help her, just like you helped me."

"Okay," I nodded. I took a deep breath, running my hands through my hair. "What if. . . What if we go back to her house and you try to get another scent?"

"Good idea," he nodded. We left his house and I drove to Y/N's. When we got there I put the car in park. As Scott started to get out, I couldn't get myself to move.

"Stiles? You coming?"

"I can't."

"What?"

"I can't protect my own girlfriend."

"Stiles," Scott sighed.

"No!" I hit the steering wheel, cutting him off. I looked over at him, allowing the tears to fall. "I can't protect the one person who means the world to me. Scott I've felt weak being the only human in the pack before, but never like this. Right now, I feel utterly and completely useless."

"You're not useless, Stiles. You are the one who always has the plan. You are the one who always knows what to do. You are the one Y/N is expecting to save her. I may be the one who is going to fight whoever has her, but you're the one she wants to see run through the door."

I gripped the steering wheel tightly, taking a deep breath. "Okay. Let's do this." I jumped out of the car and started heading up her driveway.

When we walked into her room, my heart fell into my stomach. I looked around until my eyes fell on a picture on her desk. It was of her and me after the lacrosse finals last year

We had just won and Y/N ran onto the field. I saw her coming and caught her as she jumped into my arms. I spun her around and when I put her down, she took out her phone and took a picture of us right as I kissed her cheek.

"Stiles," Scott said, bringing me out of the memory. "I got something."

My eyes widened as I turned around. He was holding a shirt in his hands with a weird look on his face. "This isn't your shirt, is it?" He asked like he already knew the answer. "It isn't Y/N's either."

"Then who's is it?" I asked, my hands starting to shake.

"Derek's."

As I pulled up in front of Derek's loft, I put the car in park and immediately jumped out. "Stiles, wait." Scott tried to stop me.

"I'm going to kill him. . . I mean, you're going to kill him," I said as he got out. Scott laughed as we ran inside.

He froze outside the door. "What are you doing?" I whispered.

"I. . . I can smell her. She's definitely inside."

"Then what are we waiting for?"

"There's. . . It's not just Derek in there." He said, softly. I looked between Scott and the door, not sure what to do. "Let's go," he said suddenly as he kicked the door open.

We ran inside, but froze when we saw Y/N. Peter was holding Y/N, his claws drawn. "Took you two long enough," he smirked.

"Please," I gasped. "Please don't hurt her."

"Let her go, Peter." Scott said, his claws coming out.

"Stiles," Y/N gasped as a tear fell down her cheek. My heart stopped when Peter wrapped his hand around her neck. I watched as Y/N struggled to breath.

"Take me," I begged, taking a step towards them.

"No," Y/N gasped.

"Stiles," Scott said, grabbing my wrist.

I pulled my wrist out of his grasp and took another step towards Peter and Y/N. "Please. You can take me instead, just let her go."

"Peter?" We all turned to see Derek walking in the door. "What are you doing?"

"Well since Scott won't join my pack, I decided I needed some leverage. Or I needed to make my own pack," he said as he slowly scratched Y/N's neck making her cry out.

"Uncle Peter," Derek said calmly. "Let her go."

"No," he said as he showed his teeth. My heart stopped as he slowly moved his head towards Y/N's shoulder.

Before he had a chance to bite her, Scott appeared behind them. Scott grabbed Peter's shoulder and tore him away from Y/N. I ran forward and caught her before she fell to the ground.

"Y/N," I gasped as I caught her. I slowly kneeled on the ground with her still in my arms. I wrapped my arms tightly around her as she sobbed into my shirt.

"I'm so sorry Y/N," I said softly as I tighten my arms around her.

She leaned back so I could see her tear stained face. "I knew you would save me."

I leaned down and gently pressed my lips to hers. When I pulled away, we pressed our foreheads together.

"I promise, I will never let this happen to you again."
