Thomas's POV

I woke up and opened my eyes, instantly feeling the soft bed underneath me. When I rolled over I could see Y/N sleeping on the bunk directly across from me. Although her back was to me, I could tell her shoulders were shaking slightly.

I quietly got out of bed and gently laid next to her. I heard her gasp as I wrapped my arm around her stomach, pulling her back into my chest. She looked over her shoulder at me and my heart sank seeing the tears streaming down her cheeks.

"It's going to be okay," I whispered so only she could hear. She turned around so our noses were inches apart.

"How do you know that?" I opened my mouth to respond, but she cut me off. "I just. . . I can't explain it but I have this weird feeling that there is something they aren't telling us. And. . . And I'm scared, Thomas."

I pulled her into my chest, wrapping my arms tightly around her as she buried her face in my shirt. "You're safe, Y/N."

"I don't trust them, Thomas. Every time that Janson guy looks at me, I feel like he is plotting something," she said as she started to shake in my arms.

I reached down, putting my finger under her chin, tilting it up, making her look at me. With my thumb, I quickly caught a tear as it streamed down her cheek.

"I promise I am not going to let anything happen to you. I would rather be thrown back into the Glade with no memories than let them hurt you."

I looked down at her lips before looking back up at her eyes. As if in slow motion, I leaned down as she tilted her head up. A bolt of electricity went through my body as our lips connected.

Our lips slowly started to move in sync as I rolled over so she was lying on top of me. I slid my hands down her back causing her to shiver. We pulled away when neither one of us could breathe.

We didn't break eye contact as I slowly rolled us back over onto our sides. "Thomas, I. . ." Her voice came out soft.

"I love you, Y/N." Her eyes widened slightly at my confession. "I've loved you since the moment I came up in the box and my eyes instantly fell on you."

"The only reason your eyes fell on me was because I was the only girl," she smiled, a blush rising to her cheeks.

"You were and still are the first person I think about when I wake up," I smiled as I tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. "And the last person I think of each night before I go to bed."

Y/N scanned my face before leaning forward and pressing her lips to mine. "I love you too," she whispered with our foreheads pressed together.

The next morning, we were woken to the sound of snickering. I opened my eyes and instantly saw the guys huddled together, laughing to themselves.

I looked down to see Y/N asleep, resting her head on my chest. I smiled as she started to wake up. I watched as her eyes fluttered open. She smiled when she saw me looking down at her.

"Morning," she whispered, her voice still laced with sleep.

"Morning," I smiled.

"Morning."

We looked over to see Frypan, Minho and Newt looking at us with knowing smirks. I looked back at Y/N to see her cheeks were burning. I sat up and cleared my throat as I got out of her bed.

"Morning," I nodded.

You could feel the awkwardness as we headed to the showers. We went to the men's showers while Y/N walked the other way towards the women's.
