Thomas' POV

I spent the rest of the afternoon trying to distract the twins. Every few minutes they would ask when they could go see their mom and every time I had to remind them that she needed her rest.

We were in the middle of building a sand castle when out of the corner of my eye, I saw two people walking towards us. I turned around and smiled when I saw Vincent helping Y/N down the mountain.

"Mommy!" Laura yelled as she stood up and ran towards her mother. I smiled as Logan followed quickly behind his sister.

Y/N smiled as she knelt down and wrapped her arms around her kids. I couldn't stop the smile that formed as I watched Y/N's eyes filled with tears as she pulled out of the hug and listened to Logan and Laura tell her how happy they were.

I stood up and wiped the sand from my pants. I turned around and headed back to camp, giving them a chance to spend some time together.

"Thomas, wait."

I turned around to see Y/N standing up and jogging towards me. I gasped when she wrapped her arms around me in a tight hug. "Thank you," she whispered into my ear.

I pulled away from the hug, my arms still wrapped around her waist. I bit my lip as I watched a tear stream down her cheek. "I'm serious, Thomas." She said, her voice breaking. "You didn't just save my life. You. . . My kids already lost their father and I don't think they could've. . . I mean if I hadn't. . ."

"Y/N," I said softly, cutting her off. She looked at me before closing her eyes and letting out a sigh of relief. She looked behind me causing me to follow her gaze. I smiled when Logan and Laura waved at us.

"Thank you," she whispered causing me to look back at her. "Thank you so much, Thomas." I smiled as she pulled me back into a hug.

"My pleasure."

The next day I was sitting at lunch, not really eating, when I felt a tug on my shirt. I turned around to see Laura biting her lip nervously.

"Hi, Laura." I smiled. "Everything okay?"

She nodded her head before looking behind her. I followed her gaze to see her looking back at her mom. She looked back at me and played with her fingers.

"Do you want to come eat lunch with us?" She asked quietly and quickly.

"I'd love to," I said making her smile. I stood up and, as I started to follow her, she reached over and took my hand in her small one. I smiled as she led me over to where her mom and brother were.

"Hi, Thomas." Logan said with a mouth full of bread.

"Logan," Y/N sighed. "Don't talk with your mouth full."

"Sorry mom," he said with his mouth still full.

Y/N let out a small laugh as she sent me a shrug. "Hi Thomas."

"Hi Y/N. How are you feeling?" I asked as Laura pulled me to sit down next to her.

"I feel," Y/N paused as she looked down at the twins who were trying to balance their spoons on their noses. "As good as new," she finished.

"That's good to hear," I smiled.

If you had never met Y/N before today, you never would have know that she had the flare. Her color was back, her veins were back to their normal color and the bags under her eyes were gone.
