"Come on, Y/N!" Dylan whined as he followed me into my room.

"I said no." I sighed as I threw my backpack onto the floor next to my desk. Dylan tossed his next to mine before jumping onto my bed.

"I don't know what the big deal is," he sighed. "It's just a party, Y/N. Live a little."

"Dyl," I sighed, turning towards him with my hands on my hips. "We're seniors in high school, we have our whole lives to live a little," I said, mocking him.

He stood up and walked across the room until he was standing right in front of me. I bit the inside of my cheek when he reached forward and put his hands on my arms.

"What's up, Y/N? You've never fought me on going to a party as hard as you are right now. What's going on?"

"I just. . . I just don't want to go to Lacey's party," I stuttered.

"To a party or to Lacey's party?" He asked, sending me a knowing look.

Lacey Wilson is the most popular girl in our grade. Whenever she has a party, everyone goes. Her parties are known for being loud, long, and crazy. Her older brother buys her as much alcohol as she wants as long as she makes sure no one goes in his room.

Her house is the location of raves, drinking games, stupid stunts that ends in someone getting hurt and any/every kissing game you can think of. I don't want to know how many people have lost their virginity at her house.

Not to mention the fact that Lacey has had a crush on Dylan since middle school and at every party she manipulates the games in her favor. Although she tries to cheat the games, she's never succeeded. Not even in Spin the Bottle.

"I just don't want to go," I said turning around and grabbing the remote.

"Why not?"

Why not? Because I don't want to spend the whole night watching the girl who does nothing but push me around and bully me trying to get in my best friend's pants.

I don't want to watch her stroke his arm and listen to her laugh at things he says that aren't funny. It's annoying to watch her act like an idiot just to get his attention.

I don't want to sit on the sidelines as she flirts with the guy I've been in love with since we were six.

"Y/N?" I jumped when he poked me in my side.

"What?"

"You okay? You kinda zoned out on me."

"Oh," I said, ignoring the red in my cheeks. "Sorry."

He studied my face before shrugging. "Why don't you want to go the party with me?"

"Are we still on this?" I groaned as I sat down. I bit back a laugh as he face planted onto the bed next to me.

He started saying something, but I couldn't hear him considering the fact that his face was in the pillow. "Dyl, the only person who can hear you is that pillow."

He lifted his head and sent me a smirk. "I said, we wouldn't be still on this if you agreed to go."

I rolled my eyes before flipping through the shows on Netflix. Dylan sat up and took the remote out of my hand. "Y/N," he sighed. "Look at me."

I bit my lip as I turned so I was facing him. He reached forward and took both of my hands in his. "I will be by your side the entire time. I promise."

He looked at me with hopeful eyes. I chewed on my bottom lip before sighing, "Okay."
