"Vinny, wake up! Wake up and snap out of this!" I exclaim.

"He can't hear you now," Habit says quietly.

"Yes he can," I say. "Fight it. Fight it, Vinny. I know you can, I believe in you. Please. Help me."

He steps closer to me, holding the knife at his side, and then slashes me across the cheek hard. I shriek and fall down on my ass. I look up at him, my heart racing as blood pours down my face like tears.

"Please, Vinny," I beg.

"He's not taking calls at the moment."

Habit plunges the knife into my side and I scream. He rips it out and then turns back into Vinny, who promptly drops the knife and starts crying once he sees me.

"... No ... "

"Vin, it wasn't you," I gasp.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. Y/n, hold on, please don't go anywhere."

I touch my bloodied hand to his cheek, and feel tears roll down my arm. I swallow hard and look at him.

"It's okay. It's gonna be okay," I say. "I don't blame you."

"You should," he sobs. "I'm so sorry ... "

"No, I shouldn't. Vinny ... ow ... you did nothing wrong. It was Habit."

He kisses me on the forehead, then on the lips. I kiss him back. And then, my world fades away.
