"CHARLOTTE CAN YOU please explain what this is?!" Mia exclaimed, into our room with a magazine in her hands.

She paused once she saw me on the bed and narrowed her eyes at what I was holding.

"It's a duck." I stated in a 'duh' tone.

I stole a duck from the pond.

Trina helped me. She's such a badass.

We emptied the doughnut basket earlier and put a white duck inside.

It was actually easy.

Plus, the duck didn't quack during the drive home so we were safe.

I was now in my room at 5 in the afternoon, stroking the duck's- who I named Kai - feathers, when someone rudely interuppted me.

She scowled at me, "No shit."

I rolled my eyes at her, "Language."

She ignored me and threw the magazine she was holding beside my bed, scaring Kai away.

She picked up Kai and babied it while I took a look at the magazine.

When I saw the front cover, my eyes nearly bulged out of it's sockets.

"Where the heck did they--"

She then threw her - well Trina's -phone at me and showed me a video.

It was a video of Why Don't We's interview in BBC radio earlier this morning.

I pressed play.

"So guys, how's the reality show coming along?" The interviewer asked.

They all smiled.

"Well, it's going amazing for me." Jack grinned.

"It's amazing for all of us." Zach corrected after frowning at Jack's statement.

"It's quite fun, if you ask me." Jonah laughed.

Daniel suddenly looked sour, but quickly covered it up with a smile.

"Really? How so?" The interviewer pushed.

"Well, there are a few people on the show that make it tons more interesting than we expected it to be." Corbyn laughed, his eyes sparkling.

"Oh. Care to name these people?"

Corbyn tilted his head to think while all the other boys looked at him.

"I can only name one." He answered.

The interviewer raised his eyebrows to encourage Corbyn to answer.

"She's Lotte Ryans." He blurted out.

My heart nearly beat out of my chest.

"Ah, the controversial sassy queen of the show." The interviewer laughed.

"Yeah, she's really fun and interesting." Corbyn nodded.

"She's a great person to hang out with." Zach smiled and winked at the camera.

"I actually sat next to her on a plane from LA to the show here in New York, and she didn't even recognize me." Jonah cut in, chuckling.

Corbyn stealthily narrowed his eyes at him.

The interviewer looked intrigued, "She's not a fan, am I correct?"

The boys nodded.

"That's what caught our eye, you know? We're always up for something different." Jack joked, making all of them laugh.

"Well, aside from those, what makes her stand out?" The interviewer pushed.

And for the first time Daniel spoke.

"She makes great milk."

The video stopped there and I looked up at Mia who was stroking the duck's feathers in an evil manner.

She looked at me with a pity filled frown as she put Kai down.

She approached me and gave me a hug.

I sighed, turning away from her.

"Dude take a chill pill. This is nothing." I said, smiling at her.

"But the cover said--"

I shrugged, "I don't care what the cover said."

She opened her mouth to protest but I stood up and gave her a smile.

"I have to go put Kai in the backyard."

I picked up the duck and made my way outside the mansion.

I carried Kai to the backyard and set her free to roam there.

I sat on the bench in the backyard and silently admired the Venus Fly Traps.

What a beautiful sight to see.

The silence and the silent quacks of Kai slowly lulled me to sleep.

-

"Lotte? Wake up." I felt someone shaking me awake softly.

My eyes opened and I was greeted with the sight of a familiar blonde sitting beside me.

"Hey." He grinned at me.

I gave him a small smile and re-adjusted my sitting position.

"What? No sarcastic comeback? This is new."

I nodded and then looked at the plants in front of me.

"Are you okay?"

Am I?

I looked up at him, "The Venus Fly Traps are beautiful."

He narrowed his sea green eyes at me trying to change the subject.

"Lotte, is there something wrong?"

I bit my lip.

I trust Corbyn don't I?

I sighed, my eyes meeting his sea green ones as I tucked my knees to my chest.

"Yeah." I sighed out.

He looked worried. "Why? What is it?"

"I saw my face on the front cover of a Magazine today." I stated.

"What's wrong with that?" His eyebrows furrowed.

I laughed bitterly, "The front cover said, Lh-o-ette Ryans: Hater to Fame whore."

He looked shocked.

"Words don't usually affect me, but damn. When they're printed on paper, it makes it seem so real. I know it's not true, but I can't help but imagine what my family thinks about me now that they have probably seen it." I shook my head.

He was about to say something but I stopped him before he could.

"I'm sorry. I'm on my period so, I guess every little thing just makes me sad." I laughed.

He gave me a small smile and hugged me without consent.

I froze but soon sighed into the hug.

I felt a tingly feeling in my stomach when his hands made contact with my shoulders when he pulled back from the hug.

"Period or not, I know you're not okay with what you read. I'm taking care of that shit magazine." He scowled.

My mood instantly changed as I chuckled.

"Thanks, Bean."

He smiled down at me as I leaned on his shoulder.

"Anytime, L."
