MICHAEL'S P.O.V

I could smell bacon as I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, yawning and stretching before climbing out of bed, slowly and quietly removing my arms from underneath Lauren.

I walked downstairs wearing boxers and a sex pistols vest and sat opposite my dad at the breakfast bar.

"I'm not sure your shirt is very suitable for a family picnic son." Dad said, looking up from his paper.

"I never said it was." I stated, already feeling annoyed at my dads pointless comments.

He ignored me, not taking his eyes off his paper and eventually my mum broke the silence.

"Bacon?" she asked and I nodded, wondering why she'd even bothered asking.

"Where's Lauren then?" dad asked as I ate my bacon.

"Sleeping obviously." I replied. It was strange because Lauren was always up early, most of the time she was up before me but when I woke up this morning she was still in a deep sleep.

Lauren emerged from the staircase a few minutes later, she looked incredibly pale.

"Good morning darling." My mum smiled.

Lauren smiled and said good morning back, coming and sitting beside me.

"You really don't look very well." I said, studying her.

She was shaking and very pale, her eyes had black rings around them.

"Do you feel okay?" I asked and she shrugged, putting her head in her hands.

"I think I'm going to throw up." She replied, her voice cracked.

"Shit!" I said, making dad look up. "Come with me." I finished, grabbing her hand and pulling her to the bathroom.

She fell to the ground, resting her arms on the toilet seat as she vomited.

"Mum!" I called as I held Lauren's hair out of her face.

My mum ran in and gasped.

"Oh goodness! Ill get some water!" she exclaimed, rushing to the kitchen.

"It wasn't my dinner was it?" Mum asked. Lauren chuckled slightly and shook her head, sipping the water before vomiting once again.

I was sat beside her on the bathroom floor as she vomited, rubbing her back and holding her hair out of her face as Mum left the room to get a fresh towel.

She sat up, groaning and falling back slightly, leaning on me.

"I really don't feel well." She groaned, a thin layer of sweat glossing her porcelain skin.

"I think we should take you to hospital darling." Mum said, crouching beside Lauren with a fresh towel.

"Mum I can't go in a hospital." I panicked, reminding her of my phobia of them.

"Michael we have no choice. Get a large bowl from the kitchen and we can go." Mum said, finishing the argument.

I got a bowl and helped Lauren up, walking with her outside and sitting beside her in the car, holding the bowl in her lap in case she needed to be sick anymore.

My arm was around her as mum drive to the hospital, shouting at cars getting in her way.

We pulled up, I walked With Lauren once again until we got to the entrance.

"Mum I can't-" I said, looking through the doors and seeing the doctors and patients.

"Michael you're 18 years old for gods sake! your girlfriend is in pain, we need to go in." She said sternly, walking through.

I took a deep breath, muttering to myself as we walked in.

The smell hit my nostrils and the plain white room began to feel like it was getting smaller.

My mum went to the desk of a&e, giving her and Lauren's name and sitting beside us in the waiting room.

"Lauren jones? We're ready to see you." They said after what felt like a long time.

They gestured for a room for us to go in but I froze in panic.

"Mum I can't." I said as we for closer and closer to the hospital room.

"No, please don't make me go in there. You know about my fears." I finished.

She huffed and I left, stepping outside and taking a deep breath, I had just faced my biggest fear for my girlfriend.

I was anxious as time passed, I sat outside on a bench on my phone, nervous for what was happening behind the closed doors.

The charge was low as I played happy birds, worrying about Lauren.

Finally, they emerged from the hospital.

"What was it? What happened?" I asked, instantly standing up and walking over to them.

"She had an allergic reaction to some medication, they have stopped the prescription to the medication and she had an injection." Mum explained, I cringed at the thought of injections, causing me to shiver.

We got home and mum went to the kitchen and told dad whilst making a cup of tea for us both.

"No family picnic today then." She smiled.

"I'm so sorry." Lauren replied, sipping her tea.

"It's fine love! we have until Tuesday, don't worry about it." Mum smiled before me and Lauren went upstairs.

Lauren instantly climbed back into bed and I joined her.

"Are you still annoyed with me?" I asked as I lay beside her.

"Yep. I'm to exhausted to argue right now." She answered, closing her eyes.

"I'm really sorry. I don't want to argue either." I replied, looking at the ceiling.

Her eyes fluttered closed slowly and she fell into a deep sleep, I turned to her once again, interlocking our fingers and watching her as she slept peacefully before planting a small kiss on the end of her nose and allowing sleep to take over me, letting myself drift off.
