Staring Contest

Getting home felt absolutely amazing! I missed my bed, my tv, my house, my friends, and maybe my brothers.

I was starting to feel real heavy and dropped on my bed.

"Home sweet home!" I sigh, happily.

"Jada!" Jazmine walks in, sitting next to me. You could definitely tell she was expecting, her stomach poking out a bit.

"How ya feelin?" I asked.

"Fine, baby is getting bigger and bigger everyday. How are you?"

"Caesar and I are supposed to find out how the babies are and see if we can get the genders."

"Oh okay. What do you think they are?"

"Im honestly not sure. I don't get enough movement from them to determine what I think."

Jazmine nods,

"We've really missed you. Its been so long since we've seen you."

I smile, hugging Jazmine.

"I missed you guys too!"

Later that day, Caesar and I went to the doctor.

Waiting in the waiting room, I felt a small bump in my stomach.

"Whoa!" I put my hand to my stomach, confused on what caused it.

"You okay, babe?" Caesar asks.

"Yea, I think the babies just moved a little bit. It wasn't a kick though," I tell him.

"How can you tell?"

"I can just feel it."

"Jada Freeman?" The nurse calls.

Caesar and I get up going to the back.

The nurse does a quick check up before going to get the doctor.

"Hopefully the babies are okay," Caesar says.

"They are," I say. "I just know it."

Dr. Sophia walks in, a smile on her face.

"Long time no see," She says. "How are you feeling?"

"Really tired, but good," I reply, giving a weak smile.

"Well, we'll make this quick."

She puts the gel on my stomach and inserts the wand. I see the babies on the monitor and give a relived sigh when I see they're okay.

"You're babies are doing good. Both look healthy and are growing strong. However, I can't tell the genders just yet. I'll need at least another week until I'll be able to tell."

Caesar and I nodded, just happy that the babies are okay.

"Anything I need to know, doc?"

"No. Just get some rest and make sure you stay hydrated. You're feeding for 3, so don't skip any meals."

"Yes ma'am."

Dr. Sophia let us leave and we went home so I could sleep.

"Um, what y'all doing?" Riley questions.

"Staring contest," Jazmine says as she looks deep into my eyes.

"For what?"

"A bet."

"What y'all betting?"

"Riley, shut up! Asking all these damn questions," I snap.

I could tell he was giving me a look and heard footsteps walk away.

Jazmine and I have been going on with this contest for the past 2 hours and I didn't plan on losing.

"Yall heffahs still doing this?" Cindy questions.

"Mhmm."

She let's out a huff, going into the fridge.

"Babe, you hungry?" Huey asks.

"Yes, but I'm not eating until I win."

"Jazmine, that's not health. You need to eat."

"I will, just not right now," Jazmine says, her eyes never leaving mine.

"Babe!!" I yell. I hear Caesar walk into the kitchen.

"What's up?"

"Can you get a Pop Tart for me? The babies and I would like a snack."

Caesar grabs the Dunkin Donuts© Vanilla Latte Pop Tarts out the cabinet, opens it, and hands it to me. Without losing eye contact with Jazmine, I break a piece of my Pop Tart and bite it.

"Yum," I mock, knowing Jazmine was hungry. She wasn't able to eat her food without looking.

"Nope. I'll be alright."

"I've had enough," Huey grabs Jazmine, making her look away from me. I had won.

"Huey, what the hell?!?" Jazmine yells. "You made me lose the bet!"

"Bet?" Huey raised a brow.

"Yes!!! You thought I was looking at your sister for just shits and giggles??"

I laughed as I took a bite of my snack.

"Thanks for the dub, Hue. I'll be collecting my payment in due time."

Jazmime grabbed a salad she had pre-made and went upstairs.

I laughed as Huey rolled his eyes, not caring she lost the bet.
