~monsters~

4 2 2

When she was young a monster crept in her room at night
And stayed there till morning
She wanted it to leave but it was inside of her mind
Confused, hurting, the girl cried out for help
Ashamed and feeling guilty,
She felt as though she had done something terribly wrong
But it wasn't till later when the girl was much older that she finally was able to look back
And start to let go
Because she learned
It hadn't been her fault at all
And yes it was hard
Yes, she was sometimes fearful
But she's confident now
That the monster won't stay forever
And the light will chase it away
Eventually
Until the last remnants of it are gone for good

I like this one too. It was freeing to write, in a way.
