I kept sitting there quietly with tears streaming down my eyes.
"Ayiappa why, why it hurts so much kyo mujhe Alya ki baat ka itna bura lag raha h sach hi toh bola unhone. Agar mere bhi mummy papa hote toh sab kitna different hota. M bhi unke saath bachpan m park atte, apne birthday's celebrate karte, sab festivals manate, holidays pe jate...par aisa kuch nahi h" I thought with immense pain in my heart. Ye ek aisa pain h jo kabhi nahi jaega.
I was busy in my thought when I felt someones presence beside me, calming myself down I peeped beside me to look who it is.
As soon as I saw the person beside me I lost my control ony emotions, the hurt, the pain the loneliness suddenly consumed me with so much intensity that it become difficult for me to breath. His brown orbs were looking at me with an unknown emotion. Not being able to control myself anymore I immediately wrapped both my arms tightly around his neck while pulling myself near him as if asking him to hide me in his arms and cried my heart out.
I pulled myself so close to him scared that he will vanish away. Hiding my face in his neck I cried my eyes out.

"Shhhh shhhh nandini" manik whispered in her ear trying to calm her down. Seeing her crying like this pinched his heart. Her pain was ripping his heart apart.
"Don't leave me please" she whispered while tighting her hold on him.
"I got you. I m not going any where" he whispered making his hold tight on her.
"Acha shh shhh stop crying. Come on look at me" he pleaded helplessly getting worried for her.
"Hey..look at me na" he whispered again while moving away from her.
"No don't go" she shouted scaredly while tighting her hold on manik as soon as he tried to move away.
"Relax shh I m not going anywhere" he said sensing her vulnerability. He placed both his palm on her cheeks making her look at him with year filled scared eyes.
"Please don't cry" he whispered helplessly and wiped her tears softy.
"Vo .....m..... I m sorry" she said. Her chin wobbled as new stream of tear started flowing down her eyes.
"Why are you sorry ha??" He asked confusingly.
"Mujhe ghar jana h please mujhe orphanage chod de please" she pleaded.
"Par" he was about to question her but stops hearing her plead.
"Please" she again pleaded while holding his blazer tightly.
"Ok come" he said. He made her stand and grabbed her bag from the bench and took her to his car. He opens the passenger door for her and made her sit. After assuring her comfort he run towards the other side and quickly sat in.
He hurriedly drove off to her orphanage while time to time looking at her, who was aimlessly looking out of the car.
The silence in the car suddenly breaks by the ringing of manik's phone making nandini's bones jump due to the sudden voice.
"Ha Cabir" he said while answering his call hurriedly.
"Ya I m out somewhere" he said looking sideways towards the shivering figure of nandini.
"Ok I will be there bye" he said and ended the call hurriedly.
Soon they reach the orphanage. He stops the car and turns towards nandini who was still shivering.
"Nandini" he called making her jolt in fear." Relax relax its me".
She looks at him with glassy eyes.
" Kya hua h, ha tell me won't you share" he asks softly. But she kept quite and continues to look at him.
"Please" he pleads while placing his hand on her hands.
"Vo.....m....mujhe pta nhi tha toh maine bas puchliya" she hiccuped trying to control herself.
"Shhh, I know I know relax isme rona kyo aara h, koi baat nahi it's ok" he said while squeezing her hands in her lap.
"Ok chalo stop crying nahi pta na koi baat nahi I will tell you ok isme konsi baadi baat h" he said while caressing her hands trying to calm her down.
"I will tell you everything tomorrow theek ha, today you rest" he said sweetly making her nod her head like a baby and moved out of the car. He opened her side of the car and helped her in getting out.
He kept on looking her way till she totally went inside the orphanage.

I sighed and left from there.
"Ye nandini ko kya hogaya tha achanak she was looking so pale and scared. Why was she so scared and unsecured. I need to talk to her. Kl I will definitely talk to her I can't see her like that it hurts" I thought while going back home.
"Am I missing out something kuch toh h jo nandini ne nahi btaya mujhe. I can't see her crying like that" Thinking all this I reached my place.
I saw everyone sitting in the living room, so I went towards them
"Cabir kya hua u called so urgently" he asked.
"Ye baat ap dad se pucho unhone hi call karvae thi" Cabir said making me look at dad questioningly.
"Mannu phle fresh hoja dinner ka time hogaya h, uske baad baate karna" dadi said.
With this I got freshened up and came down for dinner. Dinner was a silent affair as no one spoke much as everyone was busy in there own thoughts. Two three times I saw dadi and dad talking through their eyes with each other making me suspicious but I kept quiet.
After dinner dad called me in his study. I knocked on the study door and went in.
Dadi was also present there with dad which made me curious.
"Dad wat happened" I asked sensing the seriousness on the face.
" Arre kuch nahi, tu baith yaha" dad said while making me sit on the chair infront of his desk and he himself sat beside me on the other chair with dadi on the head chair.
"Boliye kya baat h " I asked again while looking at both of them. They both shared a look and then dad started.
"Vo ajj actually mr khurrana ae the lunch pe apni family ke saath matlb apni wife aur bete soha ke saath, soha ko toh tum jante hi honge" dad asked.
"Yes dad I know her"I replied .
"Toh vo bhut pareshan h ajj kl soha ko leke" he continued.
"Kyo" I asked looking at both of them seriously.
"Soha ki shaadi ko leke" he said.
"Ohh toh usme kya h she is a famous confident lady koi bhi miljaega" I said casually not interested in her marriage thing at all.
" Agar unko koi acha rishta cahiye toh dadi can help them unke pass toh bhut ache rishto ki line lagi rehte h, kyo dadi" I said while standing up.
"Dad I m tired m chalta hu"
"Arre sun to unhe koi rishto ki line nhi cahiye, unhe ek ladka already pasand kiya hua h" dad said while stopping me.
"Ye toh a hi baat h fr problem kya h, agar baat karne ki problem h toh mujhe bataeye m ladke se baat kar sakta h if I know him" I suggested.
"Kon h ladka" I asked while rotating my neck due to tiredness.
"Vo actually mannu unhe tu pasand h soha ke liye" dadi said shocking me. I looked at them with wide eyes as if they are some alien.
"Wat have they gone crazy" I shouted angrily not believing them.
"Manik listen first, they have just asked. Aur maine unhe kuch nahi kha h abhi sab tere upar h" dad said in an attempt of calming me down.
"Dad this is not possible" I said sternly.
"Kyo kya koi h teri life m" he asked seriously leaving me shocked.
"N....no...no ai...sa kuch nhi h" I stammered awkwardly.
"Manik, koi ladki h toh btade " dadi called sternly making me nervous.
"No dadi sach m aisa kuch nhi h" I said this time confidently.
"But still I m not ready for marriage abhi abhi m ceo bana hu I already have lots of things in my plate so please dad ap mana karde." I said straightforwardly.
"Thk h jaise teri marzi par beta ab it's time to get settled so think about it if u have someone toh let us know aur agar nahi h toh hum dhundh lenge tum bas ha boldiyo. Take your time but prepare yourself" dad said while caressing my hairs affectionately.
"Ok dad, par ap unhe na khede" I said and left from there.
As soon as I came out I released the breath that u was holding for don't know how long.
"Damn it, soha no never." I thought and left for my room.
After looking my room I laid down on my bed and started recalling wat dad said.
"Is nandini the one for me?" I questioned myself.
"But she is so young and naive aur ajj jo kuch bhi hua uske baad toh I need to be carefull. I need to understand her. Mujhe usse baat karni hogi vo itni pareshan thi ajj. I have to take care of her. She is like a baby and i will take care of her" I thought with determination and went off to sleep.

After sir dropped me I ran in my room with maa behind me. I was not able to think anything.
"Nandu bacha kya hua, ye kya hal bana rakha h ha"maa asked as soon as she saw me.
"Bacha"she came near me and hugged me tightly making me cry my heart out.
"Meri Jann kya hua, kissi ne kuch kaha" she asked worriedly seeing my state.
"Maaa ..maaa" I hiccuped finding it difficult to breath.
"Shant hoja nandu" she said while caressing my back. She offered me a glass of water and made me have it from her hand .
"Maa...maaa...." I tried to say something but my breath didn't helped.
"Ha bacha shant hoja meri jann" she said worriedly.
"Medicine, medicine dra....drawer " I said while pointing towards the drawer in the side table. Maa immediately rushed towards it and gave me the medicine. I quickly had it with shaking hands to calm myself down.
After sometime I was lying down in maa's lap, who was caressing my hair lovingly.
"Nandu, tu thk h na" she asked being concerned.
" Ji ma" I said.
" Maa ek baat batau" I asked.
" Haan bolna" she said lovingly.
"Manik sir hana" I said hesitatingly "vo mujhe bhut achi lagte h. Vo itne pareshan the ajj mere liye" I whispered.
"Acha aur usee tum kaise lagti ho" she asked.
"Sayad unhe bhi m achi lagti hu, par" I said but stopped in between.
"Par kya" maa asked.
"M unke layak nhi, vo itne achi h aur m"I said being lost in my daze due to medicines.
"Aisa kyo bolre h mere Nandu sabse layak h samjhe tu aur agar tere Manik sir ko aisa lagta h toh fr vo hi tere layak nhi h" she said and I like this I slept due to medicines effect.

Next morning
Malhotra Mansion
Manik woke up on his usual time and left for office. He reached office on time.
"Good morning sir" riya greeted him as soon as stepped out of the lift. He nodded his head in acknowledgement and left for his cabin. He immediately called on nandini's intercom to call her in. It kept on ringing but no one attended it.
"Where is she" he thought and called again but got no reply. He immediately stood up and went in her cabin but didn't found her there. He was about to left her cabin when something caught her attention. He came towards her desk and saw everything in its place.
He looked here and there to find her belongings but found nothing.
"Computer bhi on nahi h aur Bag bhi nahi h." He thought worriedly and left from her.
"Riya" he called while coming towards the reception.
"Yes sir" she said.
"Where is nandini" he asked sternly.
"Sir she is not here yet"
"Wat, it's already 15 past 9, is she late today"
"I don't have any information sir if you want I will call her"
"No leave it" he said and came back n his cabin.
"Kha rehgae ye ladki, is she fine" he thought worriedly and picked up his cell to call her.
It kept on ringing.
"Come on nandini, pick up the phone" he whispered impatiently. He called again and it kept on ringing but still on answer. He was about to disconnect the call but it got answered.
"Hello nandini were are you tum theek toh hona h office kyo nahi ae abhi tak aur phone bhi nhi uthare thi pta h how much worried I m" he started barging his questions not letting the other person speak.
"Hello" a voice came from other side making manik stop his batter.
"Hello this is nandini's phone right" hr questioned.
"Haan beta yeh nandini ka hi phone h ap kon' she asked.
"Maa m manik nandini ka boss pehchana apne m usdin nandini ko pick karne aya tha" he said.
"Manik haa beta yaad aya kaise ho" maa asked affectionately.
"I m fine maa app kaise ho" manik asked.
"M bhi theek"
"Ummm....vo nandini kha h I mean vo office nahi ae na isiliye " he asked worriedly.
"Vo beta nandini ko ajj ki chutti dedo" maa said.
" Kyo wat happened vo theek toh hana " he asked immediately getting worried for her. Maa smiles sensing his concern for nandini.
"Beta vo uski tabiyat theek nahi h" maa said.
"Wat, wait m abhi atta hu" he said while standing up.
"Nahi beta sunno uski jarrurat nhi h vo so rahi h abhi medicine ke wajah se. Maine usse uthaya nahi socha aram karlege thodi der." Maa explained.
"Ohh kya hua h usse"
"Beta vo theek h abhi headache tha thoda"
"Acha.....ummm ok ap usko sone de m off dera hu usse" manik said disheartedly.
"Agar koi baat ho toh ap please mujhe call kardena m ajaunge"
"Theek h beta" with this he disconnected the call.
"Kya hogaya h nandini ko kl bhi she was crying so much baat bhi nahi ho par thi kl mujhe usse akele chodhna hi nahi cahiye tha" he thought dejected.
