If you have watched supernatural this first part may be familiar to you. I made it a little different though but it will still be similar. Hope you like the chapter!!
I'm in the dark. It's all around me and I can't see anything. "Protect her" I hear a voice say. "Who" I ask. "Protect her" the voice says again. "Who? Protect Who" I ask. "Protect her" the voice says again. "Who" I ask. "Protect her before it's too late" the voice says and it starts getting lighter around me.
I wake up hearing Grace crying. I look over and see jace still asleep and so is Chrissie. I slide out of the bed and grab the dagger I keep in my nightstand drawer for just in case. Grace hasn't woken up in the middle of the night in a while. I have a bad feeling that this time is different from the normal times she wakes up in the middle of the night.
I walk down the stairs. It's way to early for this.
I stop at graces door. It's cracked open. I peek in. There is a figure there standing over her crib.
I open the door all the way. "Jonathan? Did she wake you up" I ask. "Shh" the person shushes.
I look over and the witchlights start flickering. That's not supposed to happen. I walk in some more. The figure turns around. Something's off. "Don't touch her" I threaten. I try and get closer to her crib but the thing slams me against the wall without touching me. I am slid up half of the wall and keep going up. I struggle to stop but can't.
"Jace" I yell. I don't want whoever this is to hurt my baby. He's my only hope at this point. Nobody outside our tower would hear much.
The door opens. "What Clary" jace asks half asleep. He's looking at the person at the crib, thinking it's me I guess "I'm over here" I tell him. He looks up at me. His eyes widen
"Let my daughter and wife go" jace says. The figure turns around. "You" jace says. "Yes, and now I want the baby and you can't stop me" the figure says. "Let them both go Ildimis" jace says. The demons eyes turn yellow. I notice something shiny in jaces back pocket. It's his dagger that he keeps by the bed too. "Mmm, no, I'm not going to" Ildimis says.
He leans back over the crib. Grace stares at the yellow eyed demon.
Jace grabs the dagger and throws it at the demon. It hits him in his back. The demon turns around. "Can't kill me that easy" he says. He pulls the dagger out.
He goes for jace this time. "No. Don't hurt them take me" I tell the demon. "I'm good Thanks" the demon says. He turns back to jace.
I try and struggle to get my arm to my dagger from my pocket. I see jace try and fight off the demon.
The dagger slips through my fingers and falls. The demon drops jace and turns his attention on me. Jace goes after the dagger and stabs the demon. He makes sure the demon is dead.
Once it's dead I know it because I fall. "Grace" I whisper. I go quickly go over to her crib and pick up my crying baby. "Who was that" I ask. "Ildimis" jace answers. "Yes I know that now, but why did it look like it wanted you dead" I ask. "Probably because he does" jace says. "Why" I ask. "No idea" jace says.
I sit down in the rocking chair and rock Grace trying to get her to calm down. "Why was it that when you saw him you looked surprised and said 'you' all surprised and dramatically" I ask. "Because I never thought I would see him again. Remember when I died years ago in the institute" he asks. I nod. "He was the one that killed me. The only way he was able to get into the institute was because he was possessing someone's body. That's how he got into Idris and the castle now" jace tells me.
Grace keeps crying and doesn't calm down at all. I rub her back. She spits up. Instead of it looking normal it's black and gross. "What's that" I ask. "Demon blood. He was trying to get Grace to have demon blood in her. Obviously she didn't want it" jace says.
Grace cries some more. "Shh it's okay baby, Shh. Mommas got you, you're safe now" I say and rub her back. She keeps crying. "I'm going to have to use one of the only ways I know of to get her to sleep" I tell him. "What's that" jace asks. "Sing to her. I know a song that she likes and will fall asleep to" I tell him. I start singing lavenders blue.

When I finish the song Grace has fallen asleep. I walk her over to her crib and set her down.
I look over and jace is asleep on the floor. I walk over and wake him up. "Come on lets get back to our bed" I tell him. He gets up and we both walk up to our room and the moment I get in the bed I fall asleep.

"Get up you two. You have two minutes till breakfast" I hear someone say. I moan and dig my face into my pillow. Jonathan goes to Jaces side and tries to wake him up. "Let me sleep" jace says tired too. "Since when are you two missing a meal" the voice asks. "Since last night. Now go away" I say. I'm so tired.
"I wouldn't wake her if I were you" jace warns apparently Jonathan succeeded in waking him up. Jonathan comes to my side of the bed and starts shaking me. I smack him. "Go away" I say looking dead at him. Jonathan rubs his arm where I smacked him. "I told you not to wake her. She's an angry sleeper, like a bear" jace says to Jonathan.
Then I remember one important thing. Grace. "Grace" I say quietly. I sit up shove jace and get off bed. I run down the stairs and into Graces room. She is busy playing with her feet. "Hi Grace" I say. I pick her up. "How is she this morning vs last night" jace asks. "She's just fine. When I came in she was busy playing with her feet" I tell him. "Good. That stuff is still on the wall. Someone will have to come clean it up" he says. "Yeah" I say. Grace reaches for jace. He takes her from me and she lays her head on his shoulder.
"What is up with you two" Jonathan asks. "I will tell you later. What about breakfast" jace asks. "I told them to hold off on breakfast until I found you since no one had seen you two all morning" Jonathan says. "Okay well I'm gonna go change and then we can all get breakfast" jace says. "Okay but hurry up I'm hungry" Jonathan says.
We both walk up stairs and to our room jace is still holding Grace. "I'm glad she likes me now" jace says. "Yeah. I guess all it took is the two of us having to save her four month old life" I say. I start looking through the closet for something to wear. I put on a cute purple top and some jeans. I take Grace from jace and he changes too.
We both go down to breakfast. As soon as the three of us sit down they bring the food out. I start feeding Grace her bottle.
"Okay so why did you two sleep in this morning" my brother asks. "Last night a demon got in and tried to do something to Grace. Jace had to kill the demon" I tell him. "Why didn't you do it" he asks me. "Because the demon had me on the ceiling" I tell him. He looks really confused. "Okay I'm not even going to ask about that one. What did the demon want with Grace" he asks. "We have no idea. When I killed him Clary fell and picked up Grace. Grace started spitting up demon blood at one point" jace says. "The demon tried to give her demon blood?! How did he even get into Idris with all the wards" Jonathan asks. "Her body didn't want the demon blood so it all just came back up. He possessed someone's body and got in that way" jace answers. "Oh, well she's alright now right" my brother asks. What is with him and all the questions? "Fine as far as I can tell" I tell him.
Grace finishes her bottle. I start eating myself. "Where were you last night" jace asks. "In my room. I figured you guys wouldn't want me at dinner with the lightwoods since it was a family thing" he tells us. "Maryse was asking about you. She knows you live here with us but she never saw you so she was wondering where you were" I tell him. "I was in my room. My dinner got brought to me in there. You could have come and gotten me if you needed me" he says. "Yeah I know. Alice told me she would probably be with you since I gave her the night off" I tell him. "So that's why Alice was no where to be found. It's because of you" jace says to me. He cuts Jonathan off right before he was about to say something. "She was. Not all night but she was with me" Jonathan says. "What do you mean" I ask. "She left not long after we both ate. She ate in there with me" he tells us. "Oh" I say.
"Hey do you know where cookie was last night. She wasn't with Grace like she usually is" I ask. Jonathan just shrugs. "I don't know bear was with me" he says.
Cookie walks in. "Cookie" I say. She walks over to me. "Where were you last night? Grace was almost hurt and you weren't with her" I ask her. She looks down like she's sorry. She goes over to her bowl and eats her food.
After we finish breakfast we all walk around and go outside.
"Sir" I hear. We turn around to see Jackson. "The seelie queen is here" he says. "I didn't know she be here this early. Okay take her to the drawing room. I will be there in just a minute" jace says. Jackson nods and leaves.
"I asked her to come here so I could try and talk her out of wanting Grace. I'm not sure how well this will work but it's worth a shot. Please don't let Grace anywhere near the seelie queen. I don't want to take any chances of her being near her. Do you and Jonathan want to go to the manor house for a little while. I will send you a message letting you know when it's safe to come back" jace asks. "Yeah that sounds fine" I say. "I don't know where that is. I know you told me to go feed autumn while you were gone but I didn't know where the manor house is to do that" Jonathan says. "I will show you" I tell him. "Just send a message to the house a little while after she's gone just to be careful" I tell jace. He nods.
Me and Jonathan go and get autumn and Chance ready. "Can you hold her while I get up? I will take her back and we can head on over after" I ask him. He takes Grace from me. I get up on autumn and take Grace back. He gets up on his horse. "Oh, your rune. You might want to put it on just in case" I tell him. He puts it on changing his appearance. "How are we going to get there on a horse with Grace" he asks. "We have to be slow and just walk but it will still be faster than us just walking ourselves" I tell him. "I will just stay beside you. I have no idea where we are going" he says. "I will show you. You can't miss it with the big gates and the Herondale symbol on them" I tell him.
We both start walking and it takes a while but we make it to the manor house. "I like it" he says. "Me too. All the furniture and stuff still here. Isabelle just took all our clothes to the castle when we were going to move there" I tell him. "Oh good. What do we do with these two" he asks getting off his horse. "You can put yours in one of the stalls in that barn. Here take Grace and I will put autumn in hers" I tell him. He takes Grace from me and I get off autumn. I take her reins and lead her to her stall. I take the bridle off and just tie her up in here with her saddle still on. "You can just do like I did and do it with Chance and we can go on inside" I tell him and take Grace. He does and we go inside the house.
He turns off the rune that changes his appearance so he looks himself again. After he looks around he asks "you know what you need?" I sit on the couch in the living room. "What's that" I ask. "A tv" he says. "Oh right, I need a tv in a house I barely come to" I say back. "Well then just get one at the castle" he says. "Yeah I guess I could get one there but do I really need one" I ask. "No but I do. I get bored some times. It would give me something to do" he says. "Oh right right. I will add that on my to do list right under never gonna happen" I tell him. "Come on Clary please" he begs. "No" I say dragging out the word. "Why not" he asks. "Because you don't need one" I say.
"Did Chrissie stay here with you" he asks. "At this house" I ask. He nods. "Yeah of course" I tell him. "How long have you had her" he asks. "I got her a year before I got married. She stayed with us at my house there. You know the one that's now moms house. Then she came here, then to the castle. The two of us kinda moved around together" I tell him. "I like her" he says. "Me too. She deserves to be loved. I got her from the shelter, I felt bad for the dogs there" I tell him. "Aw" he says. I nod.
After a while of just being at the house Jonathan goes upstairs to find something to do. It's already the time we would be eating lunch at the castle. I take Grace to the master bedroom. I lay her down and surround her with pillows. I hope she will take a nap this way there's not much else I can do. I close the blinds around the window to the outside and the leave the room.
"Clary" my brother yells. I walk upstairs to find him. "What" I ask. "Is there any food here" he asks. "No. Now I just laid Grace down in the master bedroom so she can take a nap. Keep it down. You can get food back at the castle" I tell him. I leave the room and go back downstairs. I go outside and to the barn. I take off the saddles and everything still on and let both of the horses in the pasture. I go back and sit inside.
A while later I hear a knock on the front door. I get up and go to the door. I open it. It's Simon. "Hey Simon" I say. "Hey uh can I come in" he asks. "Yeah sure come on" I say and step aside for him. He walks in. "So two things. One, jace sent me to let you know it's clear to come back. Two, I wanted to know if you would be my parabatai" he asks. "I'd like that" I tell him. "You want to head back to the castle" Simon asks me. "I guess so. Grace is asleep in the master bedroom. Can you stay in here with her while I get Jonathan and we go get the horses ready" I ask him. "Yeah" he says. "Thanks si" I say.
I go upstairs and find Jonathan. "Hey it's cleared for us to go back to the castle. I took the saddles off the horses and put them in the pasture so we would have to get them tacked back up" I tell him. "Okay let's head back down. What about Grace" he asks. "Simon is going to stay in the living room while Grace sleeps and we can get the horses ready to go. Then we can go get her and leave" I tell him the plan. He nods in understanding and we go outside. We get the horses all ready to head back. I go inside and wake up Grace. "Come on baby. We are going back home. It's safe now" I tell her. I take her outside. Jonathan gets on his horse. I pass her to him and get on autumn. He passes her back.
We both meet Simon at the front gates. "So I have to go slow since I have Grace but if you two want to go on faster ahead of me you can" I tell them. Jonathan puts his disguise rune on. "I'm off. I want food" he says. He heads down the road fast. "Guess it's just you and me" Simon says. "Guess so" I say. We start walking down the road. "Look its a little late for us to become parabatai but I think I can pull some strings so we can do it" I tell him. "Thanks Clary" he says. "Find someone to be a witness on your side and I will find mine" I tell him. In all honesty it might be jace but we will see.
We both ride back to the castle.
I get off autumn the minute we get to the barn in the back of the castle. Me and Grace go inside and the first place I go is to try and find Jace.
I find him in the throne room at the balcony looking over the city. "Hey" I say coming up beside him. He takes Grace from me. "Hey" he says. "How did it go" I ask. "She won't give up. She said if we don't hand over Grace by June 1st she is going to attack the castle" he says. "I can't believe it" I tell him. "I know" he says. He kisses Graces little head. "I don't want anything to happen to her" he says. "I don't either" I say. It hurts to know something could happen to my baby girl.
